Occasionally when I have people over, I often get asked to let people “try” my stuff.
It’s almost always a hard NO. People are gross and still don’t wash their hands after wiping. I’m not interested in having that on my Les Paul.

You could just ask them to wash their hands first.
Don't mind letting people play my guitars (except one) as long as they don't start changing the tuning.
Life is here to be enjoyed and shared!

I couldn't care less. Anything I have can be fixed or isn't worth worrying about. I would be more concerned about people pooping and not washing their hands honestly.

I don't have big parties so a guest in my house is welcome to play my guitars or sit in my favorite chair (I actually don't have a favorite chair). At a bar gig, unless it's someone I know or can tell is a player who will appreciate and respect, absolutely not. Those are money making tools. I can't have you potentially taking food out my kid's mouth. A dude called me selfish for that once but since I think a man has some duty to his children I didn't really feel bad, or selfish, for that matter so I thought to myself "suck a bug".

And btw jerk you put this in the wrong section again @Monkey Man
Of course.

To be fair, he and Danno have been very-good in this department for a little while now. All those tutorials must've paid off.

Moved from OTC to main sub-forum.

It'd depend on which guitar, and I'd make them wash their hands first.

I don't mind, but I ask they take off their rings if they are wearing them. That's an easy way to damage the neck.

Meh… I don’t give a fuck if people play my shit
I don't mind if someone plays with my shit either. I just strongly recommend them washing hands thoroughly immediately after the act.

At one gig, a fan climbed on stage and pretended to play with me. So I let him strum the strings. He grabbed them, almost ripped them off my bass. Then, he happily stagedived. Don't let fans play your instruments, even if their hands are clean.

Really? I guess the big goofy ornate rings but a wedding band? I’ve never thought of that.
