After the Firebird X i'm quite convinced Henry J. is crazy ... :loco:

everything i've heard about the 2013 Gibsons so far has been 100% positive, if not ecstatic

I've tried two 2013s and they were both dogs. Frets sticking so far out from the fretboard you could use the neck as a hacksaw.

Same here. I've heard many people praise 2013 as one of Gibson's best years.

If he did make a lp I would imagine looking like a prs or one of the numerous types that fit that description with the super exaggerated quilt or flame tops with crazy modern colors. I don't think he needs to, he already has his nitch and a respectable one at that.

They are speaking of the historic/vos/custom shop stuff though right? Production guitars are still using the multi piece bodies and alternative woods etc, no ?

If Suhr did one I wonder if he would make it a bolt on like the Anderson Bulldog? Either way, I wouldn't even consider one at the obnoxious price it would sell for.

Does Suhr actually make guitars or assemble them?

What? LMAO
History makes that a very legitimate question for somebody who is not familiar with the current company.

Sometimes I just have to wonder because my experience has been so different. How do the frets come past the nibs? or maybe it was a non bound guitar? And it's not because I'm not looking because pretty much every fender and ESP that I've played has had sharp frets, Or fret sprout (which can be is easily taken care of and in most cases isn't a manufacturing issue, it's a humidity issue) unless it was a custom shop model.

This year I've played a bunch of stuff all the way from the 799 satin studio, trad pro's all the way through the custom shop stuff. Pretty much every single one has been very good. and it was the $799 model that opened my mind. This guitar played and sounded awesome. It just didn't have any bling and the finish was very plain. The trad pro's I've played have been very impressive. There was not a single one that I played that I thought to myself, this one sucks. If it didn't play at a very high level, it could have with some very minor setup. As a matter of fact, I could sell my CS LP and be more than happy with a trad pro. In my opinion, they are a very good guitar for the money. ANd if you want to step up a little, the historic stuff can be had for 2200-3000.

I just don't buy the Gibson sucks thing anymore. I would say probably the only thing that I've seen is small finish flaws. But unless it's glaring, I don't even notice.

Isn't it pretty well documented that he does?

To those "in the know", absolutely. For somebody who doesn't follow that stuff closely though, it's a reasonable question seeing that his early guitars (see my first post) were in fact parts builds (albeit with a lot of value added during the build process).

Compared to the Gibson C/S prices??? Hell a Shur might be cheaper.
He makes set neck moderns so I would assume he would make a set neck single cut.
