Doesn't anyone else think the new Evanescence...

... that came out today KICKS ASS as much as I do right now???

I've got through track 11 and dig EVERY track so far. The first single is thus far the weakest one. The production is tight. The sound is BIG and heavy and theatric. I'm really digging this CD right now! Which is a HUGE switch from the usual routine when I buy a new CD and MAYBE like a few songs and rarely listen to it. Between this CD and the new Arch/Matheous that I picked-up over the weekend I may find my faith in the biz being restored somewhat. :rock:
 
I'm seeing quite a bit of hate for the new CD out there on the web. Oh well... I really don't give a crap. I totally dig it and even if I was the only one I'd STILL dig it. Music critics' opinions are worth exactly what I paid for them!
 
I only read one review and it really put down Amy Lee...I thought it was strange because the magazine interviewed her for that issue.
 
I actually like the first single! It beats a ton of stuff calling itself 'heavy rock' on the radio today - because of Amy's voice!
 
the single sounds good i think. haven't heard anything else from the cd tho. been too busy listening to the new staind cd which i think sounds awesome! heaviest stuff since break the cycle and a fair bit of pretty cool solos...idc what anyone says, i love that band haha! but getting back on topic, i will prolly get the new evanescence cd on itunes sometime soon. i've always liked evanescence, but i felt like the second cd was kind of a let down.
 
I have been so far out of the loop on new music I missed this one. I will have to check it out.

Also for all Evenescence fans you should also check out Delain. Quite similar style but also very cool!!! I will post some youtube videos later
 
Delain sounds great! Still tuned down, but the guitar is more clear and detailed sounding IMHO.
 
not a big fan of the style but Delain has a good vocal melody and Amy's looking hot as all hell!

Yeah, I personally think that this CD is WAY better than the second one and may give the first one a run for its money. It's pretty heavy and I really dig that.

I post on some non-musician (firearms) sites and seems those "he men" don't care for this one. But I really don't give a rats ass. I like it a lot and am glad I bought it!
 
I listened to it. The production is great, singing is solid, and the playing is tight. I am not a fan of her lyrics. I have to question if she is a basket case as a girlfriend. She is either sad or angry all the time in her songs. Gets a little old after a while.

I thought the same thing. She's cute. I enjoyed the backstage antics filmed for the 2004 DVD. But it's pretty clear that she is a bi-polar basket case. Most good/great songwriters are though. Their music is their therapy. They feed off of the drama in their lives and pour it into their art. I know because I used to be a LOT more prolific of a songwriter before my second wife came into my life and made me feel secure, fat, dumb and happy! :lol: :LOL:
 
i like the new single. i guess i will have to check out the album

I guess the guitarist used a different rig rather than a pile of Rectifiers then EQ'ing the shit out of them in Pro Tools.

her voice is like nails down a chalkboard at the end of a chalkboard hallway.

she's the WORST singer i've ever seen live, period. every note she tries to sings is like an anti note of the note shes' trying to sing. if you've not seen her live, reserve your comments until you do.

yeah, anyone can sound great in a studio these days.
