Wait. What?

Don't get me wrong. I love old school Dokken and would love nothing more to see them play together one more time....but not under these circumstances.

I mean - it would be hard to spend my hard earned cash to go to a show where I knew they don't really want to play together and they are only doing it for the money.

What is your opinion?

(Mick) Brown (drummer) was brutally honest in saying that the main driving force behind the whole endeavor is cold hard moolah.

He said: "It's the money we're doing it for and I think that's the wrong reason. The reason should be we want to play together - and I don't think anyone wants to play together - but the money we're being offered to do it, you just can't say no."

Asked about the toxic relationship between Dokken and Lynch, the drummer confessed he hardly sees any change on both sides, saying: "It was something that was there since day one and it's never going to go away - and that's what's making me feel hesitant about getting together again.

"I haven't seen a change in either one of them, so I don't know what to expect. But I'm willing to find out. In spite of ourselves, we always seem to do well. It's never very easy and I'm sure it's not going to be this time either."

Looks like the shows are in Japan only so maybe it is a moot point

Most bands dislike touring. They enjoy a few shows but overall the whole touring thing is a pain. It becomes a job. Money is the major factor for them all...........

All I care about is if the band puts on a great show. I couldn't care less if they get along or not.

If Dokken has a chance to get together to make some stupid amounts of dough, they would be dumb not to do it.

Is there really that much money sitting around waiting for a Dokken reunion?

Don can't sing worth shit and Lynch can play without a phase 90. lol.

nothing wrong with a phaser mate

I'm of the thought that there are a lot more bands out there doing it for the money than one might think. Especially when their heyday was 25-30 years ago. Music is a business.

Saw Don about 5 years ago
His Voice was in very poor shape
Passed on any higher notes, by letting the other guys in the band sing them or just pointing his mic out to the crowd

pretty much the only reason bands tour id for money ... they don't make any money now from albums so they have tour endlessly

Let's look at it another way:
Is it wrong for people to do a shitty day job they hate for money?

I hate to admit it but you're absolutely correct.

True all 'dat !!! lol Levin sounds more like Lynch than Lynch does at this point...

I remember several years ago when a Japanese promoter offered a million dollars for an Alcatraz reunion with Graham Bonnet and Yngwie. Bonnet calls to try and talk to Yngwie and his wife/manager answers, turns him down and says "Yngwie makes a million dollars just walking down the street" [from endorsements]

As for Dokken, Don's voice is just shot, enough that playing Just Got Lucky two steps down isn't going to fix.

Personally I think
Jon Levin out plays lynch now
Dons voice is shot
The reason it's Japan is no draw in US
Someone posted a show in a parking lot a few years
Ago in Chicago or something and there
Was 10 people there

I love George Lynch, he is the reason I picked up the guitar. I wore out Under Lock and Key and Tooth and Nail. The reality is, I like some of the new songs that Jon wrote (lightning strikes from a few years back is a great return for them) and I love a lot of Lynch Mob tunes. With a reunion, you get great songs, but not all of the great songs and Don who just can't do it anymore (unfortunately).

As to the OP, Mick has always been the clown and smart ass of the band, so it doesn't surprise me that he was so crass about it. With that said, does it make the GNR reunion any less to know that they're just doing it for the $?

Good for Mick... He's honest.
Every single band touring is
in it for the $$$
... I do NOT think Don is a
nice person.
Too bad George doesn't own the
name of the band, then he could
have Glenn Hughes or Kelly Keeling
etc etc at the mike, under "Dokken"
name
Don's voice is finished. done...

I predict that Sammy and Eddie will get back together again with Michael Anthony…' for the fans ' hehehe

Of course bands do it for the money - why wouldn't they?

There are a few bands out there though who don't do it for the money (alone).

Some bands need to just let go and let their legacy stand on its own you know?

GnR is slightly different because they are much bigger and much more in demand and I have to believe that Slash and Axl truly want to make this work - vs going into it hating each other out of the gate and playing on stage in spite.

I'm not into fake shows. Sorry.

(although I'm sure I've seen plenty of them - is. Van Halen 1984 tour)

Mick is no angle....he's thrown many insults towards George when he was with Don.
