Don Dokken

Why not let the other 3 guys cover the vocal duties and make it a 3 piece? There should almost be a law against shit like this.. past a certain age, you need to apply for a license to be a live singer if you are over 55 and an 80's rocker.

Wow....so sad. The band sounded fine, Reb played great!

I'm sorry, but that's not Dokken. It is, I get it... You know what I mean.

Fri July 17 Reb Beach filled in on guitar for Dokken, musically they sound great. But Don holy shit he sounds like he's drunk. I know he's 67 and hasn't sang well in many years but this is pathetic. It's sad to see, being a Dokken fan. I've seen them a couple of times over the years with Classic line up.

he looks drunk when he goes back to the mic after the solo ..... Clearly what has happened to him after the back surgery is getting the better of him mentally. I hope he can pull the nose up and doesn't end up dead like so many do when they fall into that kind of darkness

At least Reb ripped it up and saved the day.

Wish I could unhear Don now. Geez man.

he is definately impared, it could be medical issues or just drunk . Either way I wouldn't pay to see that. I feel bad for the rest of the band.

There comes a moment when you have to realize you just can't do it anymore...Father Time always wins. My last gig was in 17 when I was 50, I can't imagine trying to play out at almost 70.
On another note, unless it's absolutely necessary I'd avoid any back surgery. My wife and I are both in the medical field and we both see so many unsuccessful procedures; I'd say 70% of people regret even having the surgery in the first place.
Agreed 100%

Not saying this is related but my Dad had back surgery at a young age - in the 70s. They gave him methadone for pain. Needless to say, he struggles with his opiate addiction every day and he is not pill popping but still struggles.

Wondering if Don was drunk or on pills (or both). Someone just mentioned pills. I didn't watch because it's too painful to watch my old heroes embarrass themselves. I'm sure Reb tore it up

Lastly, like RaceU4her said - I'm thinking most of the die hard fans in the audience know that Don has been in decline for many years. They go anyway to show support and have a good time. Hell, I'd almost go just to see Reb. Almost. I suppose there may be a few who are not aware and for them, I'd be totally pissed. But you do have to give credit for him to at least be out there doing it. I shudder to think what I'll be doing when I'm 67 lol :D

Don is just there for the pay check. Can't blame him. It is not pretty though.

Looks to me like he is in pain while on a strong dose of pain medication. Something I can identify with, because when my arthritis is at it's worst and loaded up with pain/anti-inflammatory meds, I walk (shuffle) and bend in a similar way.

its sucks that with all the bands NOT touring, or playing any live gigs, we get fucking half ass Dokken and half ass Great White as the only ones actually playing live lately. what did we do to deserve this?!

and yeah, Done Dokken looks like he is blasted on Somas or something. I get what he went through, but why the hell would you try and gig unless you are fully healed? He shouldn't be gigging on many levels. covid, nerve damage, loss of basic bodily functiions!? call it a fucking day, dude! I don't even want to see people i actually like in that state. watching lemmys last gigs were pretty painful as well. that whole "i'm gunna rock until i die" thing sounds a lot cooler, when you're 25.

So this show was in my area. Originally I was going to go because Lynch Mob was going to be with them. 2-3 weeks ago Lynch Mob cancelled due to a illness of a band members relative. No George, I didn't go. A buddy of mine went and was sending me videos and I though Don sounded horrible.

Other than Don Dokken, are there any original members in this band?

He sounds like Marlon Brando as the Godfather singing Dokken songs; this is fucking hysterical

His range is gone. He can no longer sing the songs without changing the melody, or doing the inverse of what he used to do, up 3 notes, now does down 3 notes. It's time to pack it in.
