Donation thread to buy VonBonfire a James Tyler

Sounds more like the tan cargo shorts crowd would be a better idea. You can use those extra pockets for slides, ebows, capos and even clip on tuners!

Cutoff tan slacks gives a different tone because ultimately the pockets are not in the same location when you cut them as a cargo short would have. @SmuggNorris would probably prefer to see his band wearing carefully cut and hemmed, pleated, starched dockers so as not to make his friends feel like they were living that dumpster life when attending the elaborate parties he throws.

I can't justify bringing another guitar with a gross headstock into the world.. So I will not donate. Also had the chance to play them at multiple NAMMs and the necks felt like chalk every time. Gross, dry and uninspiring. I'll donate to @VonBonfire getting a Squier Classic Vibes instead.

(I honestly have no idea of the obsession with Tyler guitars.. They fucking blow)

it's the headstock design:

Only the finest in desk decor, sir. Only the finest.
I'm just saying that considering your latest private reserve NGD the egg totally tied in the desk, the guitar, and that plush bear rug you have in front of your Matchless together.

@Smash I have a small stash of humbuckers wound by Seth Lover himself in the late 90s, not too long before his passing. You can't get much more "original" and vintage than that. If you want, I'd happily give you one.
That is very kind. If I get a maz and a les paul jr to put it in, i might take you up on that, sir

Man, matchless are badass though for real.
Yep especially the 90's Sampson stuff like Smuggy loves. I was telling a story about attending a jam at a place called hoss hogs IIRC in Tahoe back in the 90's. The host was a Matchless dealer and that was the backline. Then I caught Mato Nanji of Indignenous using the half stacks at a couple different shows. It was like $10 or 20 bucks to see him and he is a good player and singer. But both shows he blew the Matchless' up, lol.

I had a friend that owned a Mark Sampson era Matchless. Notice, I used past tense.

I owned a sampson era Clubman 6sh7/6at6 for a long time, it's one of my biggest amp sale regrets. The entire scope of the volume control was edge of breakup from 1-10. Couldn't get it squeaky clean but you didn't want to. It was absolutely fucking glorious sounding

And that is a great point, yet is it trashy enough without the strings hanging from the cutoffs
If you wanted to go that route we need flip flops and 3 speed bikes with baskets on the front filled with Natural Light ICE tallboys and GPC 100's to ride to gigs and complete the Florida man theme.

Man you must've been partying way too hard back then. Not sure what you were thinking but I been there. In another 10 years someone like @SmuggNorris could've funded your retirement with that sale.

Count me in. Can't chip in a full 200$ bucks but will help with what I can next week.

VonBonfire is the homie ^_^

That's super nice of you bro but as I told @JackBootedThug the other day....Take care of yourself and your family and if you have something left to give, give the money to the first person on the street who you find in need. That would be even better than a JAMES TYLER with a reverse headstock many times over and the greater blessing!
