Maybe the guy was tweeting that Bruce's voice has been shot going on 20 years now.

Or maybe it was Niki sexting Bruce's wife.

Yeah really not sure what his problem is there.. who gives a shit if the guy paid his money to be there. Maybe he was texting about how awesome the band was? AS for Bruce's voice, one could argue it has been shot for 20 years but i still think he does a decent job in most spots considering the ranges he needs to cover for a full show. Most guys sound like shit over 2 hrs and this is not even factoring in his age. He is becoming a crusty old fuck though. I think his time would be better spent running his aviation business. Adrian Smith is still unbelievable though. Better than he has ever been. Love that guy.

LOL @ Wanker. The Brits have the funniest vulgarities. IMO I always liked Bruce best when in a studio situation but to agree with Kapo its gotta be a bitch to sing like that through the course of a tour.

Meh... I saw them in Denver two summers ago and LOVED the show, but highly regret that I spent much of the time texting friends about being there. Was a HUGE waste of time and I wish I'd just enjoyed more of the show.

As far as Bruce's voice goes... the "old" dood still kicks major ass considering the range he has to cover and did just fine when I saw him. Considering the fact that besides singing, he captains B757s, writes books, fences, etc... the guy is just awesome and unlike many of his contemporaries... he's still out there kicking everyone's ass (even people half his age). Look at Geoff Tate if you want to see a guy who can't sing anymore and is a REAL crusty ole fart.

Oh... and Up The Irons!!!

Btw... being a "drama queen" comes with the territory of being as much of an active frontman as he is. His passion for doing it is obvious and when you see a guy like him live you at least know you got every penny of your money's worth. Unlike so many other bands where they're drunked, stoned whatever and they obviously don't give a shit. I don't mind a lead singer being an attention whore, it's just how far that carries over into how they treat the rest of the band and off-stage antics that get on my nerves.

Grandpa Dickenson has been a crotchety whiner for at least the last decade or so....

Ha, I thought it was funny! I don't think Bruce was trying to be a jerk, The band sounds kick ass!!

This type of behavior in concertgoers I don't quite understand. Why pay all the dough just to be there in text-land instead of watching what's happening in front of you and enjoying the show?

I'm glad you realized what a waste of time that is. I wish more people realized it.

the dude texting paid his money so he can do whatever he wants. Bruce is such a diva

I was at that show. I actually didn't notice him calling the guy out. I see both sides...it has to be frustrating looking out a bunch of kids in the VIP section staring at their phones and/or pointing the phones in his face. I took my 12 year old son btw and he had a blast.

Since the guy was obviously not interested in being there, Bruce probably wishes to separate himself from the audience, perhaps building a wall between the audience and the band... er. wait...

Bruce is a twat.

Look at it like this:

You go to an upscale restaurant and order a top of the line steak. When it is delivered to "perfection", you take a bite and then pass on the rest. Maybe you aren't as hungry as you thought. Maybe you want something else. The chef then comes out and berates you for not eating his "masterpiece".

Sod off chef, I paid for it and chose not to eat it. Same applies to a Maiden show. Wash the sand out Bruce and keep working for the other 20,000 that appreciate you. Dance monkey, dance.

Should hve been putting in earplugs. I'm amazed the horse-gallop-tempo band is still around. Poor man's Priest.

Forgot to mention...there was another guy with a laser pointer who happened to be aiming it at the guys during the show. I personally didn't think that was too cool. I'd heard he eventually got taken down for it. Although the Aurora Co, issue didn't happen till a few hours later, I can't help but think it's a little concering having this going on.

Yeah... for myself I was just excited to be there and wanted to rub my experience in jealous friends' faces. ;)

But realized toward the end of the show that I'd wasted most of the night.

Bruce was being a "wanker" but I don't understand going to a show and holding up a phone the whole time, texting, etc.

I know I sound old but the whole concert experience is so different now. There are thousands of videos on Youtube now. Back when I was a kid you only saw a band when their video came on MTV so you were literally crapping yourself when they came out onstage.

Even more of a waste is realizing that you've been watching Janick Gers prance around instead of watching the serious guys.

Yeah... I dunno what it is about that guy. Supposedly a really nice guy, but his mindless, sloppy shredding schtick does get old. I did like the work he did on Bruce's solo albums though. Anyways... Dave and Adrian definitely tell a story with their playing. It was VERY cool to see them pull out some LPs during the show, since all you ever see them with normally is Strats.
