“Former Whitesnake replacement guitarist #6 endorses new amp line he will display at shows, while really using his unobtainium gear behind the back line.”
I saw the Dead Daisies play, about 6-7 weeks ago.
Doug was using the Blackstars on stage. His tone was “not good”. It sounded like notes were sort of struggling to come out of the speakers.
I don’t know what the problem was.
We saw them, last October, at the same small club, and he was using his Marshall. He sounded f_cking fantastic.
As a long time fan, I hope he makes some $$$$$ off the endorsement deal.

As someone who recently demo'd these amps....I can't imagine anyone choosing them over a Suhr, Bogner, or most of the other high end options out there. There had to have been a payday involved.

Yeah this screams payola ?

The blackstar doesn't sound completely awful or anything but it pales in comparison to his past tones, for sure

HAHAHAHAHA ?

This reminds me of the "EVH took a monstrous shit at my house in Van Nuys one time and that's the REAL secret to the brown sound" threads that constantly get posted

THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT NEWS GUYS

A MEDIOCRE BUTT ROCK GUITAR PLAYER SOLD OUT AND IS SHILLING CHINESE SLAVE LABOR AMPS

Endorsement revenue, plan and simple.

If he tours without his Marshall or Suhr gear out of sight of the backline, the Crapstars will be gutted and the chassis' rebuilt with good sounding reliable electronics.

The amp is there on the cabs.. The circuits are out there.. Not like BS can't build an amp to fill in the blank Marshall spec..

What’s the box on the back there? He never addressed that. You can see in behind the head sitting on top of the top cab.

Might be some kind of a line buffer? I’m guessing it’s taking his pedalboard signal and then going to the amp input.

looks like Palmer PDI09 The Junction for DI
Or this…after a I posted I realized it would make more sense that the buffer, if he used a separate one not in a pedal already, would be on the board, not after the cable run and loss has already occured..

For $1000 you really can’t expect much of a tone - whether it’s fingers or amp, it’s probably gonna sound like ass.

Uli plays Blackstar amps. I'm sure both prefer Marshall but it's a business decision most likely.

I have seen Uli multiple times with his old Marshall and Blackstars….he sounded great everytime I have seen him…he plays LOUD and in small clubs that you cannot help but hear the stage volume.

Ive recorded with a Blackstar Stage head before, sounded great.
