Does Doug most of the time only use a little overdrive from the amp and then some overdrive pedal like his Rocket Fuel or does he mostly just use ampm distortion and just use the OD for solos for instance?

Well it could have changed recently but in the last few years I have gone over his two main heads to make sure they are the same.
Then he has used a PQ3 in the front for a solo boost, that adds no distortion in itself. He runs the gain up around 5 or 6 on the amp which is still a good deal of drive. Very far from clean.
