From Doug on his forum .....
I have been using it on tour to see how it was.... It really worked out great. Since I got home, I have been experimenting with some various settings.
There is a really cool one that I didnt use before. Its putting the Boost on about 2oclock. The Level on 10oc..tone knob OFF and the Gain on full.
Then keeping my guitar volumes on half with the neck PU a bit higher.... With this setting, you can go from really clean( Cause GTR Vols are down)
Then kick in either the Boost for a regular big tone, or the OD side for higher gain snarl. Or Both for something over the top.
Plus you got all that headroom on your guitar.
The pedal doesnt loose any bottom and has a real dramatic lead sound with this setting.
On tour I had it in my rack and it was just set as a Boost OD.... but this new setting is cool.
The pedal is not cheap. I asked about that cause I also think pedals should be as affordable as possible.
But after I heard the finished product, I thought the price was gonna be worth it and
more importantly, it was explained that the RF Pedal is hand built one pedal at a time. They are using the best of the best Caps and Filters.
Its really expensive to hand build stuff one at a time.
Anyway, Im really happy with what they delivered. I was so inspired yesterday just playing with the settings, that my wife had to drag me outa the studio after I guess about 5 hours.
Ill be hitting that thing again in a few minutes!
Se ya. Doug
PS, it sounds good with everyamp I have tried it with. VM, Old Marshall, Stock Marshall 50w, Fender Super and Soldano. I compared it with several other favorites and it stands up and has its own sound.
