Doug Rappoport local? Hell yeah!

Doug Raps is semi local (has been for a few years) and tonight he sat in for a Monday night blues jam thingy that I normally would be nowhere near…. But hearing he would be there I couldn’t resist and it didn’t disappoint for an hour or so. Just sent it, completely different than anything most of us are used to hearing him play. Super nice guy to boot. He and the bass player guy in these photos (Timmer Blakely) are all over Paul Gilbert’s upcoming disc and mid way through recording. Couple of Old Fashioned’s and Douggie Raps was not a bad way to spend a Monday after work

Sounds like it's time to put your name on the sign up sheet and follow Doug Rappappappappappaport's lead brushing up on those blues chops! Nice venue. I was super concerned about the tan pants content level but then I saw a bare foot in a flip flop, the fanny pack strapped to the bassist's leg, and the newsboy cap on the blueshawk player and I knew this is the place to be in your area for blues though it would've been nice if the drummer could've worn a beret. Thanks for sharing!

Haha yeah, no tan pants and those are my slippahs braddah. I’ve played that room a few times with our rock band, it’s solid - McMenamins White Eagle. I laughed at the leg fanny pack but that guy’s legit, Paul Gilbert’s first call cat around here.
 
Doug is amazing; so cool to hear you got to have a great night taking this in!

Interesting to see him back on a Paul and not his Knaggs.
