Heard a great guitar tone on a song by Dream Evil. The guitarist, after googling it is Fredrik Nordström, who is also a producer of other metal bands like At the Gates, Firewind, Opeth, etc.

I think he uses ESP and Engl. raunchy classic and metal tones.

Depends which CD who the guitarists are. On at least two of them Gus G (Firewind/Ozzy) is the lead guitarist. I LOVE the title track on the Book of Heavy Metal! That's an ENGL Savage 120 (with a 5150 mixed in as well).

Fredrik's thing is to put a Savage 120 through the power amp in (fx return) of a 5150. He has done that on a ton of records.

edit: maybe it is the other way around

in the studio, I will check tomorrow. Cool tone though, huge and crunchy.

Maybe it was the triamp mk ii instead of the 5150? Savage 120 for sure though.

Yeah I know, the singer actually sings and sounds like a human being, and you can even understand the lyrics. Total crap.......

I would much rather listen to a modern black metal band with big foot as the lead singer too......
