Threw some Sovtek 5881 WXTs in there and this amp is now PERFECT! The tubes made the amp more present, tighter, punchier, and clearer overall.

Just a short little full mix clip. Used one of the onboard IRs.

Suhr Modern ----> Driftwood Boost On ------> Onboard Reactive Load ------> Interface

Gibson Les Paul with no boost (totally different mix and song).

Dude, that sounds killer. Pretty deep for 30w. I'm sure there is a good bass mix but sounds really good.

It’s 45 watts, but you’d never be able to tell. Thing is just massive sounding. Using the onboard boost for this clip as well.
So glad I bought this thing!

This is just a tiny snippet of a song I recorded a while back. All the instruments are me, and I’m just in a little home studio. Nothing fancy, I’ll get better mixing and mastering as I progress I hope :)

The clips of this thing really sound good. I now thing I'd take it over the Bogner 3534. They're hard to find though aren't they?

Ironically, I almost ordered one of these this week... Love the feature set and looks, would like something that can get 'proper' modern metal tones... Really like the idea of a small footprint amp in 30W-50W range.

But, doing research, I've read a couple of folks say the amp's gain channel was kind of 'dark'... I am sort of a 'bright' distortion sounds kind of guy (like Hot Rod Marshall or 5150 type stuff mostly), so that sort of put me off... What is your take? The clip sounds really good to me.

How much ground can this thing cover? Is it just a balls out metal machine or does it cover more classic 80s era heaviosity and other rock as well? I tend to be a sucker for versatility. :) Given that these are pricey and rare, there seems to be not too much info on them.

Thanks for posting the clip!

So, I’m not sure how dark those clips were to you but the treble is around 1:00 and the “sharp” is around 2:00. So there is plenty of room there. It also has the sizzle switch which I keep in the up position. Highs are there if you want them, but everything at noon is a darker tone.

I think it may do the organic rock tone even better than the metal tones. Without the boost it’s just Uber thick. In low gain mode it gets more Marshall type, you lose a lot of the low end but it barks more. Oh, and the clean is just ridiculous.

I tend to like bright amps as well. Quickrod, 5150, 5153 EL34. If you get one get it with 5881s. That added the extra upper mids that I enjoy :)

Awesome. Man you are giving me some serious GAS, I didn't think the clip sounded very dark, really nicely balanced overall for a heavy sound. Thanks

I’ve owned a ton of amps. The feel of this amp is incredible. If I had to describe the tone it’s like a mix of SLO and SLO type amps (5150/Recto) mixed with that polished and super wide massive Diezel Herbert thing going on (almost sounds like 2 guitars playing).

Best amp I’ve owned thus far.

On the IR version of the amp, how does the reactive load box work is it a switch to engage the internal load or does it auto switch when you pull the plug? The guy from Driftwood made it sound like you could yank the load box out of the amp... Also, from the pic on the site it looks like it is a rotary switch for the IR And it has a USB connection, does it just appear as a drive for IR loading or is there Software? I did not see any online PDF or anything for reference.

Was changing tubes difficult? I see you can order it w/ EL34, 6L6, KT88, etc.
