Dual Rectifier Rev C on reverb! #0015

There seems to be a lot of snake oil when it comes to rectifier revisions, but that seems high for a pre 500 to me.

^ I guess. Probably better off collecting a Rev G and $2k worth of Vanguard ETFs for 10 years if you're looking to invest. Cool amp if you want the actual amp.

Theres a few videos on Utube comparing a rev C ti a rev G. Cant really hear much of a difference but thats Utube. Prolly quite a bit differa ce in the room. If I had the coin Id buy it just so I would finally know if all the hype is real.

Seller is really cool. Knows his Boogies as well. I bought my chrome chassis Triple Rev F from him. I'm still shocked he sold it since it sounds killer to me.

Yeah, Jack is a great dude and sold me a killer 3 channel Cameron. Straight shooter in my opinion. Wish I had the coin.

Um, doesn't Reza have a Rev F going for a lot less?

IMO just get a '94 or earlier Trem-o-verb. Kills any of the Rectifiers IMO.

I don't know that it's worth that price. But if you want the best recto tone available this is it. As a guy who has owned a 92 Rev F, a 95 3ch, a tremoverb, a rectoverb and a roadster, I've settled on my current Rev C. It can't be touched IMO. The rev F though is also badass.

We all have different ears. I've played C's, D's, E, F and G. lol. I was set on having a revision C and had a C and F in the same room. I liked the F the most and my Triple F kills. :D

Yeah, I totally get that. My old f sounded especially badass with el34s. Better than my current C does. The C with nos mesa 6L6 425's is "my tone". If I could rationalize having two rectos, I would have both a C and a F.

Yea...NO.

It's all personal preference tonally. If the Rev. C's were so awesome then why did Mesa do any revisions at all? For me, I've tried a ton of Rectifiers, including the hyped pre 500 models, I prefer the Trem-o-verb over all of them.

My old Dual Rev F had the best sounding red channel I've ever heard (orange was badass too). I still have access to the amp and still get to enjoy it.

I run 420 coke bottles in my Triple. I just opened up 3 sealed NOS pairs last month. I like the TAD's as well. I've yet to find one 6L6 that is godly.

Back in 92 I had an artist thing working with Boogie. I had access to a bunch of Rectos that we setup on stools all around the room. Didnt know the Revs. or the serial numbers. We spent hours playing each head, narrowing it down to just a few, using the same set of tubes for each till I finally picked the best sounding one. They all had the same core tone but each had its own nuances that was just enough to make it sound its own. Turns out the one I ended up with happened to be a Rev. C which I still own. They were so new at the time that there was not a head there that had a serial# over 600. Fun times baby!

That's mine. I've had more Rectos over the years than most folks have had underwear...  Price isn't for everyone. This is for a collector, not a bar band player that's going to drag it out to the local pub every Friday night with a beer sitting on top.

I debate keeping it, but I rotate amps a lot. I think I've got 21 head units right now, which includes 6 Rectos and a Road King arriving today. I've had more Rev C's than I can count. My buddy used to own #5. My personal favorites are F and G, I've said that for years. i need a clean channel.

Regarding price, to each his own. Like I said, it's not for a bar band. Compared to the last two I moved (which sold for $3500 and $3100), it's priced considerably lower... :D I firmly believe that a good Rev F or Rev G would do the trick for most folks.

I own number 5 now, just curious a to what you think of 5 in general and what you think of 5 compared to your 15?

I always wondered where #5 ended up! I like them both. It's obviously been a while since I played on #5, but both it and #15 are great sounding heads, not much difference in the two. Funny enough, I like both of them better than Allan Holdsworth's Rev C I used to own.

You should hang onto it for a few more months. At least until january when I get my tax refund. I really want one if these but they never come up when I have cash.
