I'm not sure why people get bent out of shape on this stuff. It's supply and demand. Do they sound good? Several well-known players seem to think so. Good enough that other people want them? Yup. And, when there aren't very many, the price goes up. It's not rocket surgery. It's also possible to get that tone for pennies on the dollar if you want it...

"Rocket surgery" - That made me laugh  .
I had two choices. that one is funnier

Not really. I wouldn't (OK, couldn't) pay for one but when an item is desirable and there aren't very many, the price goes up. It's only worth what the market will bear, and it appears to be willing to bear $90K+ for some models...
Oh yeah. I get that. I understand ecomonics and supply/demand. I also understand cork sniffery (which is a terrible term to describe it) and the irrational attachments people get to tone or perceived quality/value. I still say it is cray cray

I've laughed to tears with this one
I'm glad you liked it :D

Eddie Van Halen could hump his old VH1 amp and it still wouldn't be worth spending 100 grand other than the fact that someone would then give you 200 grand and you could go back to the EVH tone hunt :)
