eBay: Should I file an item not received notice?

I purchased a pedal from a seller in China on April 22, but haven't received it. The seller says that shipments are backed-up, due to the COVID-19 scare. Odd thing is, within the last month, 7 buyers have left feedback confirming they received their pedal. When I asked the seller, he replied that some people chose FexEx for faster shipping. That's odd, because there was no choice for alternate shipping at time of purchase. He now says that it may take up to 3 months to get! :aww:

Probably shouldn’t buy directly from China. But maybe just ask for a refund, unless they’ve already shipped it.

It was shipped, but then dropped-off the radar. It's been "in-transit" for over 1 month.

I would for sure. At least log your complaint while you still can. Let seller explain to Ebay.
On a similar not my wife bought a rare pair of sneakers from a seller in China (didn't realize it was from China initially) That was in March and the showed up a few days ago.

File a claim if only to protect yourself at a minimum. I've bought tubes directly from China (6N4s) and it does take 3-6 weeks sometimes. But I always got them.

I've ordered vape supplies from China, and it's never taken longer than two weeks to get.

Does he have good feedback? If he does than hopefully you get your pedal. Good luck.

He hasn't been selling long. Has less than 150 sales, no negative strikes. He sent me a notice that it may take over 62 days to receive. Had he offered me expedited shipping, I would have accepted it for sure. Oh well... I should have asked before purchasing. Per customer reviews, he makes high quality stuff, YouTube reviews are positive.

File a claim. I just did and got a refund on something that shipped back in early April and never arrived.

I filed 'item not received', but use the 'I want the item' option. That's when he said it could take up to 62 days to receieve. At this point, I don't really know what to do? Wait for it? Request a refund? I want the pedal, so... :dunno:

File a claim that you did not receive the item by the "receive by estimation". Request a refund, and if it does eventually arrive then send the seller the money again.

Will do.

I ordered a Kartakou Preamp and it took over 2 months. I got the tracking number almost instantly. It stayed in "label created" limbo for 90% of the time. Then all the sudden it starts moving and took a week.

The last update was on April 22nd. Reads; In-transit... via canoe.

It may be a legitimate shipping issue. I sent out a set of pickups three weeks ago today that were supposed to be delivered two weeks ago last Saturday. The guy opened a case and got a response back from USPS a week later saying they're overloaded so bad that they have locked bins full of packages they don't even have time to sort. I shipped on the 11th, delivery date was to be the 16th and it still shows in transit.

fwiw I 've been waiting on a order from Thomann since 4-21-20. Updated through 4-28 and now in limbo. I'm going to wait a few more weeks I guess

Stuff from China can take a long ass time especially if they ship it the cheapest method possible aka by ship. I ordered alcohol wipes off amazon in March that were shipped right away but not expected to be delivered til late June lol. Still can't find any locally so I guess I'll take it.

Oh, my... Thomann? Never again! I returned a "new" tape echo to Thomann. I purchased two new units... I received 1 x new unit, and 1 x used/damaged unit. Instead of issuing a refund (as was agreed to), they posted a store credit! I informed them of the mistake. They replied with some BS excuse about not being able to issue the refund via PayPal; which was how I paid for the device. In the end, I ended up having to file a dispute with my CC company over the incident. Oh... they also fucked me on the $60.00 return shipping.

I almost forgot... I also purchased a "new" deluxe version of the same tape echo. What I received was a used, semi-operational unit. I explained the situation with the manufacturer, and with their assistance, I was able to restore the device to full working order. Never again!

ugggh

They had a Sigil in stock when no one else did, so I gave it a whirl. Since that time I saw a few Sigils available in the US while I wait in customs for 2 months and counting

Why wife is Japanese and some of the characters are same as Chinese. Don’t trust the shipping information. I did the same with masks. They “shipped” right away, but magically, the manufacturing date on them was 3 weeks after they shipped
