Ecstasy vs FJA 5150 vs Friedman SB

I like the fast attack of the Small Box and FJA 5150 but based strictly on tone in these clips I'd rate the SB best followed by the Ecstasy and then 5150.

Not sure what to pick for the polls BUT,

if i owned these amps, I'd be running the Bogner and the 5150 in stereo, the Friedman would be collecting dust or Tire kickers..

so if i could pick more than one you'd have my answer

I liked the SB a little more than the other two. It may have have been the iphone compressing or something but the 5150 didn't seem to have the clarity of the other two. And I liked the mids of the SB over the Bogner.

Are all the amps going through the same cab? One is looks like it's pointed right at the camera, and it looks like the one the FJA is running through a cab that's pointed away from it. That would effect how we're hearing these tones.

All were going through Bogner. The other is a greenback loaded Marshall 425A

all 3 sound really good and similar sounding. It is a coin toss its so close but I like the single notes on the 101B better, rhythm tones on the BE a hair better

His Metal Mod. Pretty extensive. New transformer and choke and circuit changes. Still sounds like a 5150 but clearer with nicer mids

The Ecstasy is such a unique amp. It's a total pleasure to play through.

I really dig that Bogner mid growl. Gives chords character. I think I like the Friedman lead tone slightly more in your clips. I may be in the minority but I didn't think the 5150 was anything special. Didn't sound bad, just a very generic tone IMO.

Addendum, after headphones: initial response above was listening through my iPhone. Through headphones the 5150 leads sounded very good. Agree with others that all sound great/similar. My choice overall is the Bogner. Smooth playing BTW.

Had one. Great lead tone but other than that... don't misunderstand it was a sweet amp. Just not ideal for my needs.
