None of the ones in the poll, I prefer .046-.036-.026-.016-.012-.009

Straight up 10's. I've tried just about everything but have basically stuck with 10's since '92...they just sound and feel right for me.

:hys: I actually ended up using that gauge after I quit smoking

But being serious, it was an honest mistake when I first started using them. I thought I had bought a regular 9-46 set just to try it out and stuck with those. Fit my weak fingers perfectly!

Looks like the "placebo effect" Michi… - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

on my detuned 6-string guitars, i use 7-string packs (13-17-26-36-46-59) and just leave off the high e/10.

on my standard tuned axes, i use david gilmour's custom string gauges: 10-12-16-28-38-48 (though i try NOT to use his signature ghs boomers anymore as i find they break often on me - at least the way i play them, so i just buy single string packs of d'addarios separately if i can find them).
