Whats your review? What foot controller are you using if you do have one and use it?

How do you think it compares for the money though, since the ER is like half the price of the AFX?

I guess my issue with a AFX standard, is, I hear a lot about the processing power being maxed out.

The Axe has some great sounds, but they weren't particularly easy to get. It's a deep unit. The 11 is very plug and play friendly. The Axe's FX are more detailed but the 11R FX sound great and are easy to use. The 11R presets all pretty much suck so I created some from scratch-- It was easy and quick. I also felt the Axe felt like a modeller. The 11R to me feels like I'm plugged into my amps. It pushes back when it's supposed to and it gives when it's supposed to.
Direct sound is excellent on both units. I guess I'm lucky in that I don't need 1000's of speaker/mic combos. Yes, the 11R is limited in it's speaker cab and mic options but I think what they did include sounds excellent. Wish it had mic placement option. Recorded though, this box sounds excellent.
I like that it's a DAW interface. I LOVE the reamping--it's stupid easy. And I dig the sounds both direct and into a tube power amp. FWIW In talking to Sean Halley(the Digi guy that did the Youtube Vids) last Friday, there are going to be firmware updates- more amp, cab and mic models coming. It's brand new so we'll see how soon they offer updates.

I wouldn't say you are a lone dissenter. This stuff is so subjective.... people should just try things if possible and use whatever works for you. As a side note one thing that kept me from trying the Axe for a long time was people saying it was really deep and you have to really dig in to get what you want. But I did some reading, not a ton like I thought I was going to have to, before it arrived and the first night made my own patch with the Red Wirez IR's I had used for direct recording and had some cool tones happening, so I was kind surprised on how quickly I got it. However I did like the ER better as far as the front of the unit being more user friendly.![]()
It's not a modeler.ejecta":2ek9bt2u said:but it's the best digital modeler I've used.
There is no amount of stuff you'll do in the 11R that can't be matched in the AxeFX before it runs out of room...just as a comparison of units.The_Kid":3cpb628e said:I guess my issue with a AFX standard, is, I hear a lot about the processing power being maxed out.

The AxeFX can do no wrong. Ever. It has been, and always will be, infallible. Updates only increase its infallibleness, not that anything was fallible with previous versions.ejecta":1m8du14x said:Whatever fanboy.![]()
