emg afterburner

anyone have any experiences you can share using afterburner with passives.
i have one here but i have never tried to use it with passives and don't really want to rewire my guitar if it is not worth the effort.

also kind of a strange question but has anyone ever used a normal 81 in a seven string, the pickup is still wider than the seven string spacing by a bit. i wonder what it would sound like. need that emg clarity and 7 string emgs are are a huge pain to install. could go blackouts i guess.

I'm pretty sure Mark Day uses the Afterburner in his Suhr, with the Suhr Aldrich passive buckers. Send him a PM and ask him

I was wondering the same thing but with the EMG PA-2 Preamp Booster

I might try it on passive pickups
