I'm thinking putting new pickups in a Les Paul. Still not sure about what to go with, but as I was looking around at different stuff, I saw on the EMG website that they make these two interesting looking gadgets. One is called the EXG and the other is the RPC.
The EXG is effectively a pot that as you turn it up, activates a mid scoop and a boost to the highs and lows. It seems like it makes your pickups sound more like PAF's, cleaner, more acoustic sounding, etc.
The RPC is a pot that as you turn it up, adds highs and cuts lows, kinda like it gives the guitar the built-in EQ curve of a good OD pedal.
Does anybody have any experience with either of these things? Are they gimmicky and weird or do they actually sound good?
