I was thinking of picking up a EP3 style preamp pedal to use with my Be 100 deluxe. Anyone using this style pedal with Friedman amps? My worry is that the friedman is already modified to sound good and the Ep3 preamp may change that.

Pretty much like running a traditional EP3 echoplex with the echo bypassed, you may like how it enhances your tone, I like them, I've have two of them the Clinch and Chase tone EP-3 pedals and I love them both. I don't see either making any Friedman sound bad, it would come down to whether you like the nuances it applies to the tone itself. Think Page EVH, you definitely hear and feel a difference for sure when they are turned on.

In this clip into a 69 SL I start stright into the amp then turn on the Clinch EP3 PRE for the Zepplin riffs then I also click on a GE7 EQ for the EVH riffs.

EP-style boosts, in my opinion, sound best into relatively "thinner / brighter" sounding amps like a ^^^Super Lead^^^, JCM800, or even an AC30.
With the bass bump and smooth hi end most "EP" style pedals provide, they wouldn't be my first choice as a boost for smoother, thicker sounding amps like Friedman or Bogner for example.
If you were playing mostly Strats and Tele's, I could see an application to thicken your tone, but for use with humbuckers and a BE100, I'd look at something else.
YMMV

+1 on fusedbrain's thoughts. I wouldn't need a thickener on a Friedman. I need a boost to cut some lows.
