EQ in FX Loop: How Do You Use & Pedal order

I've thought of using an ep in the loop of my BE100, to add a "Thump/Resonance/Density" knob/effect to the amp. I placed it last in the chain: Delay > Reverb > MXR 10 Band > Mini Spark (solo boost).

Seems to work pretty well. I think the MXR 10-band may be overkill, but haven't fully explored all the variables with it; just the bass frequencies.

When I engaged the solo booost/mini spark, it seemed to accentuate everything a bit too much with the loop on, so I wondered about putting the MXR LAST and the Spark Boost/solo boost before it in the FX Loop chain.

Just curious how others are using EQ's in the loop. On all the time for more tone shaping? Just as a solo boost? etc, etc.

I leave my on all the time for tone shaping. If that's your intention the EQ should be first in your chain of the loop

Yup, this.

With my JJ I have an MXR 10 band as the first pedal in the loop. I mostly use it to slightly boost the bass frequencies a little bit, it's set as a fairly flat smile shape. Mine is always on except for some clean stuff.

Eq in the loop boosts/od pedals out front for my taste.

I use a boss EQ in the loop sometimes for tone shaping, and as a bit of a boost. Using it first in the loop is fine until you have other pedals in the loop that react negatively to a boosted signal. In my case, I have a Carbon Copy delay that sounds very dark and muffled if fed a too-hot signal. So just be aware that if you find certain pedals reacting this way, you may have to move them in front of the EQ.

Have you tried the Spark out front, EQ first in the loop, then time based last?

I really like OD->EQ (in a frown shape to push minds) -> amp -> EQ (in a smile shape) -> time based -> amp.
