ESP Eclipse Japan vs ESP Edwards LPs? Opinions?

You can buy ESP Eclipse's that are Full Thickness (same thickness as a LP Custom) but they are only available overseas. That doesn't mean that you can't get them in the U.S. though.

I could never go back to the U.S. or regular Eclipse after having the FT's. They are like Gibson LP Customs (binding on front and back, thicker necks, fatter sound, heavier/more solid feeling). The only ones I've seen have EMG's so that might deter some guys. Not me though, I have 3 of them.

Do they make full thickness with FR?

I don't think so. It would probably have to be special ordered. I think the new export models are coming out in the next month or two so maybe they have one planned for 2009.

Ive had both ESP Eclipses and ESP LTD ECs and I didn't like the thin necks. They were definetely well made, though.

I've read on this very forum that the Edwards have thicker necks and bodies. Therefore my guess is the Edwards is a more solid guitar and better tone.

And with price tags over 1500$, it`s more or less personal preference anyway. Some like apples best, other like oranges

I`ve played several LPs that I wouldn`t get over my ESP, others have played several ESPs they wouldn`t get over their LP. None are "right"
