Love my Edwards, but beware Dollar to yen is poor at the moment.
Remember Edwards is a mid range instrument made for the Japanese market, were and Esp can be from mid to top depending how much you pay and for a global market.

If the Edwards survives Telephants tour end of story......Edwards over an LP copy 
Not too impressed with the bottom end ESP guitars these days, would look at the LTD 1000 and save some loot.

Yeah, you're exactly right there. Hard to believe anyone can prefer an ESP LP copy over a real Gibby though. Nothing sounds huge like a Gibson IMO.

The only Gibson I wish I had was a mid 70s LP Custom. Now that was a murderer, the wood, the playability, the sound - all around amazing.

My Eclipse is built as good or better than any Gibson I`ve seen, but a Les Paul it ain`t. It`s much thinner, so if it should be compared to anything, wood- and thicknesswise, it`s more like a PRS, but with a different shape and bridge. The retail price is almost 1900$, though, so it`s not from the bottom of the lake.

BTW, if you liked the Burny, you might wanna try an Orville from early 90s. That's even more close to a Gibson, VERY VERY close actually. Good custom shop Gibson it's not, but can kick some Standard ass.

The ESP Edwards LPs are AMAZING for the price. The ESP Eclipse is a better guitar, but it comes with a bigger price tag. Eh. With ESP, you generally get what you pay for....except with the Edwards'...they are AMAZING. I love the Alexi Edwards I played. Plan to pick one up one day.

You can buy ESP Eclipse's that are Full Thickness (same thickness as a LP Custom) but they are only available overseas. That doesn't mean that you can't get them in the U.S. though. 
I could never go back to the U.S. or regular Eclipse after having the FT's. They are like Gibson LP Customs (binding on front and back, thicker necks, fatter sound, heavier/more solid feeling). The only ones I've seen have EMG's so that might deter some guys. Not me though, I have 3 of them.
