Hello guys,

i bought an ESP M-II. The problem is the wavy tone:

Example:

I tried already different amps. I can hear that the problem comes from the guitar itself. I am sure that the pickups aren't the problem here. I already lowered them.

It happens on every note and is more notable when playing chords ( cause of addition)

Strings are fresh.

i'm really despaired.

Thanks

I only play the Bridge (Bill Lawrence L500Xl). But it happens on the neck (a seymour duncan passive PU) too.
I'm pretty sure the PUs are not the problem.
I hear the sound too when i put my ear on the guitar.

return that guitar, you'll never get rid of that. I've only experienced it on one guitar ,that I got rid of,but if you search the net this is sometimes just a luck of the draw phenomenon that happens with bad wood or hardware

Do you hear it with the guitar unplugged with your ear close to the body?

I had that happen on one of my old Yamaha's rgx's maybe 10 years ago. The high E would have this oscillating sound when sustaining a note around the 12th fret. I think it was the frets?? they were getting very worn and flat on that guitar and notes just weren't ringing out loud and sharp anymore. I got rid of that guitar after a few dressings, it just wasn't worth it anymore... the frets were as soft as butter so they wore out so fast...too fast. Stainless Steel frets is something I gotta have now... and no wide frets with an almost flat peak.

You have a string just barely hitting a fret somewhere on the board.

Sounds to me like it needs some quality time with a luthier to get the neck and frets figured out.

Try dampening the springs. Adding one may also help. I had this issue as well.

Exactly the reason for my question

This thread was a waste of our time and did not deliver. I hope the oscillation vibrates your headstock off. :D
