"Eternal Optimists And Bad Outcomes" is a song I'm working on about how some people handle disappointment or failure.

Take me as an example, I complained about a boss screwing a subordinate and got steamrolled. Despite that, I keep myself busy looking for a new job and working on my guitar skills.

In that regard, my dad was telling me that I look like I'm enjoying myself.

And I am, to some extent, I'd rather play guitar and bass and synth all day (no place in the house to set up my drumkit) rather than slaving away so that someone else can use me as a stepping stone.

Anyhow, the guitar used on this track is an ESP RZK-II going into a Mesa Boogie Rectifier preamp that's hooked up to a 2:100 stereo power amp. That's fed to a Mesa 2x12 miced with a Sennheiser E906 and an Orange 2x12 miced with a Lewitt LC440 Pure. The bass is my trusty Warwick Vampyre SN-5 going into a Darkglass Microtubes 900 bass amp.
