When you factor in transmission line losses, each unit of energy costs more than diesel/gasoline powered vehicles.

$1.22 vs $3.50 per gallon equivalent. People are not buying EV's just for the cool factor, it makes financial sense. If you're a true "Conservative" you'd be buying an EV.
