If I read your post right....home insurance is 12,000 a year in Texas?????.........shit.... Who the FUCK can afford those prices......that's almost a mortgage payment. WTF????????? Mine keeps going up as well......I guess this is how Blackrock is going to price people out of their homes...........

Is it just me or are there more wildfires and fires nationwide than I have noticed...........I can't swing a dead cat without seeing reports of wildfires these past two years........I love cats BTW.............it's a euphemism....................

Hope everything ends well for you and yours....these horrible fires are no joke.

Insurance is and always will be a scam. File a claim, on anything, and whatever they pay out, they'll recoup from you over time. Even if the claim is NOT your fault; like a car accident. They always get their money back, and will raise your rates anyway.

@harddriver the rates were reasonable and then last year they skyrocketed and everyone I know had to drop it.

They say they are getting at least some type of containment on areas but the fire is only like 1 mile from my house so....pretty close.


Really appreciating the non-stop work from the emergency teams and national guard now as well.
