and then when you try and listen to "normal" stuff you get bored quick?

Yes I'm a big Townsend fan but I started listening to Strapping Young Lad again and forget how insane this crap is. This stuff really puts my percentage of getting a speeding ticket into another bracket while I'm driving, and I have a very heavy right foot as it is :D .

I have been in a lifetime phase of metal.

After I got into metal there was no going back.

I can occassionally listen to other stuff, its just usually not as good.

I love other genres (especially prog) but metal is my heart.

ALL.

HAIL.

THE NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW FLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSH!

All the time. I've been in my current "Metal Phase" since 2007.... LOL! :D

I do love most types of music espcially music with great guitar playing, but METAL is what moves me!!!!

I quit listening to "Metal" decades ago, until I stumbled across Black Tide's first album back in '08. I just got their second release and am digging on it!

I spent some of my formative years under a haze of smoke and Zeppelin tunes, so I'll never stop going back there from time to time. But metal is where my heart truly lies.

Now you've done it.

"decades" could just be two decades, which would be 1992. There were a heck of a lot more than two metal bands back then.

Even if you call it three decades... you get the idea.

Lol! Yep. Let me clarify. The only "metal" I've kept up with since the 80's has been Maiden.

I'm on an old school thrash kick right now, broke out the big 4, Exodus (of course), Flotsam, Forbidden, etc.... I'm having a blast. :)

City is awesome! Devin is insane (in a good way). Some of my favorite SYL tunes:

Starting at 1:20 makes me want to run faster during my races.

Here's the perfect intro to a live show. Dire is my favorite album opening ever. Consequence gets the crowd going. Check it out at 1:35. The sub low gets the crowd jumping, Just awesome!

I love this riff at the :40 and 1:18 mark.

Sounds even more epic live. Devin is funny!

Not since HS really (8 years ago). It just seems so contrived to me now. Is anyone that angry all the time? Not saying I won't nod my head to "Walk" or "The Shortest Straw when it comes on the radio. And I'll jam some metal riffs every now and then to keep my picking hand tuned.

I would call that a half century ago.

I get into heavy stuff every few years for 2 weeks/months. During this my gain often goes up and the midrange gets scooped. Then it mysteriously return to the void .... But in general I just find it silly... :)

i listened to metal from age 13 to age 23. after that not so much. occasionally ill go back to it but usually just for a day or so.

I don't know how metal this is but i was listening to this last weekend.

She will rip your balls off :scared:
