Just wondering what i can expect when i get a Single Recto in the mail in a week or so. I've owned one before but not since i got my Herbert.

But I have layered Herbert with VH4, 2 amps are better than one no matter what you do (within reason)

Oh i meant actually recording them separate and mixing them. Not playing both at the same time.

Herbert low-end is way tighter, the midrange and high's are way more musical yet could be more agressive and saturated than the recto... why waste your time??

Well it was only $640 shipped so i couldn't pass the deal. Might as well utilize it in my recordings for that price haha.

James Lugo posted some clips of a Triple Recto blended with his VH4. Not the same,clearly, but in the ballpark. Sounded cool to me!

It all depends on how you mix the sounds, really. To my knowledge, the Mesa is a bit boomier and emphasizes some of the same frequencies as the Diezel. I have recorded a VH4 with various Marshalls and always liked the results, but I emphasized the Mid/Highs on the Marshall and let the Diezel do its thing

I put a VH4 and Roadster together, and the two sound great together!
