What are these cabs like? I am looking for something smaller to play at home. Pairing it up with Marshall style amps. How does the Celestion G12H Anniversary speaker, 30 watt sound?

G12 H30 is like a mix of a greenback and v30..kindof. it is a great sounding speaker if you want the high end shimmer to really come through. It can be grating as fuck on the ears, though and that is why I eventually moved off of it.

It is kind of like a brighter V30, without the fizziness

Cheers. Not keen on the grating on the ears thing. My practice room is bright sounding already

I absolutely recommend the 4x12. It is wired mono and has the evh greenbacks. They are a wonderful speaker and the whole cab is one of my favorites.

Some will tell you that a 4x12 is too big for the bedroom. That is nonsense. A 4x12 is always better

This is what the bedroom should look like

While the cab construction is ok, the combo of the H30 anniversaries and the small-ish enclosure size is a recipe for focused and bright.
Not a good match for Marshall style amps, unless its going to be used with a Jose style diode clipping circuit.
The 4x12's with the EVH greenbacks are killer, and can easily be used in small practice spaces, as they sound quite good at lower volumes.
If you are stuck on 2x12 form factor to use with a Marshall style amp, I'd look for something with a v30/ greenback combo for lower power, or v30/creamback for 100watt power handling.

Thanks for replies. I already have a 4x12 in my room (80s Jcm800 bass series cab that I have had for 35 years and keep for sentimental reasons) so not much space for another.

These cabs are the shit and use Pine/Birch ply........ Fucking awesome!!!!!

But can anyone tell me the difference between the Signature Celestion G12H30 70th Anniversary like in the Stealth and the EVH versions in the EL34 cabs :dunno:

When I happened to have an EVH 212 along with a Splawn Quickrod, that setup was instant ACDC. Nice "shape" to the sound for lack of a better word.

It ain't polite, but thats fine by me.

Marshall amp user here and I personally love the Anni's. Once they are broken in, absolutely fantastic sounding speakers. My advice is to try them, you might be surprised. My Bogner 2x12 and my Marshall 4x12 has a mix of Annis and Vintage 30's. Sounds great. Btw/ I got my Annis i.e Hellatones from Avatar years ago that were pre-broken in.

The reason I have a fondness for the Anni's was the single best sounding 4x12 cabs I ever owned were two Mohave 4x12's with GB's on top and the Annis on the bottom. I had bought them used and they floored me. To this day one of the most crushing tones I ever had was those two cabs and a Splawn Quick Rod. My main amp at the time was a JSX but I was making the switch to the Spawn and then lost all of it in a rehearsal room fire, tried duplicating that setup with another Splawn QR and Splawn Cabs but no luck. That said been a fan of Annis since.

I tried pairing the GB's with the Annis in my current two cabs but the Vintage 30's won out and the sensitivity matches.

I came here to say the same thing. Once they are broken in the brightness really evens out. They tend to work well with the III if you keep the presence below 2 o'clock. The cabinets are well built, not overly hefty weight-wise, and I absolutely loved the tilt-back legs. I believe at one point Jerry Cantrell was using them as his front of stage monitors for his rig, but that is as close to using them with a Marshall amp as I have heard of.
