Right here.
Have had it for a few months now. It sounds great. I just wish the ch1 and ch2 volumes matched.

If you go midi this won't be an issuesquank":3bk11m4i said:Right here.

Did you already have the WGS speakers in your Mesa cab when you picked up your EVH50 or did you start out with different speakers?

Midi is basically very simple. It can get very complex with large set-ups where many pieces of equipment are changing with one click of a footswitch.itsallinmyh3ad":1g3t14rb said:nevusofota":1g3t14rb said:If you go midi this won't be an issuesquank":1g3t14rb said:Right here.

Im a complete noob to midi. How would I go about to using the head with my Line 6 M9? Do I need a midi controller or something?

Midi is made up of 2 things, midi Channel #'s (NOT amp channels) and control changes #'s (CC's).
Midi Channel #'s are given to each piece of gear that you want to control with a midi program change (i.e. one preset on the M9)
a "CC" # is given to what command you want to tell that specific piece of equipment to do. CC stands for control command.
In your case you would have each preset on your M9 send a midi message that consist of a midi Channel # (remember, not your amp channel) and a CC# (this WILL correlate to you're amps channels)
So, you could make the 5153's midi channel on the M9 be #1 and you will send a CC# (lets use #1 to correlate to the amps channel 1). So everytime you hit this preset on the M9, the M9 knows to send the CC #1 (to put the amp on the clean, or green, channel) on midi channel 1 (which correlates to the 5153).
If you want to jump to the red channel 3 on the amp you would make another preset on your M9 to send a CC# (say CC #3 to correlate to the red channel on the amp). You would stll use midi channel #1 on this M9 preset because you want to make sure the M9 sends this CC to the EVH. Every preset on your M9 will send to the same single midi channel (#1) because you are only changing one piece of gear (the EVH). The CC# will change with each M9 preset to correlate to the desired amp channel.
Now, what you have to do is read the EVH manual about how to make the EVH "learn" the midi channel # and the CC#'s your M9 is sending it. This is pretty straightforward in the manual.
I am by far NOT a midi expert but I was in the same boat as you about 5 years ago. Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more![]()

I am wanting to change speakers in my G-Flex cab. I don't really want to mix though. What do you think would be a better match for the 5153 50 watt, Reapers or Green Berets?
Yea, it looks like it's huge and outside in a thunderstorm.Orbis_Mortis":24at5d5w said:Sweet Pics!!

My EVH 5150 iii mini has midi capabilities. I've been using my Line 6 Pod XT Live for effects. It sounds great, but it's a pain to press one button to get a delay, and then another button for chorus and then another button to change the channel. I went to GC this morning and bought a midi cable... after about 30 min on tinkering, I packed up the Pedaltrain and I was left with just the XT Live and amp.
Here are the 4 channels I created:
Channel 1 - heavy rock rhythm with just a tad of delay... calls up channel 3 on the amp... tons of gain
Channel 2 - marshall-type setting on steroids with a tad of delay... calls up channel 2 on the amp... not as much gain, but enough to throw some flames!!!!!
Channel 3 - clean with delay/reverb... i also have the ability to add a bit of chorus using the mod pedal on the xt live... the clean is never fully clean since the gain and eq is shared with channel 2, but it's ok if i roll back the volume of the guitar. channel 1 of the amp is used.
Channel 4 - calls up channel 3 of the amp with a level boost and bit of delay... chorus can be added too.
Channels 1, 2 and 4 all have the noise gate.
I love it!!!!

Are you running your pod xt live with the 4 cable method. I found one locally cheap and would love to ditch the pedals, put some delay in the loop and control the amp channels![]()
Most likely a preamp tube. You may just want to try popping in a new tube because the wait for another may be months.itsallinmyh3ad":1g5kn28g said:My 5150 mini died. Lead channel won't work at all. The other 2 work fine. Gonna return it.
