I read he used that Flying V to record the song "5150"
cause he liked the way the strings sounded 'dead'.
I thought it was weird at the time I read it but if it works......it works.

I thought the cool one also was the "Rasta" that was given to and still owned by Dwezil Zappa.
ZAppa also owns one of Hendrix's strats that his Dad had owned.

i regret selling my purple EVH wolfgang - it was such a low serial number and played and sounded excellent.

but something had to go for the ESP.

the only other reason i sold it was so i could, one day, own a real peavey flamed maple top wolfgang and put the silver 5150 stickers on it.

that guitar was why i bought a wolfgang - and that guitar has been my favorite guitar for many, many, many years

The only piece of hear I regret selling is my old purple Axis. I don't even recall why I sold it but overall the best guitar I'd ever owned. Hardly ever had to tune it, fantastic intonation and played like butter.

I had contacted the guy I sold it to a year or two later and he said it was his number 1 guitar.

it's not a second cable it's this crazy eye hook setup Ed was using the keep the cable far away from the guitar instead of just running it through the strap as usual.

A guitar magazine offered up its 20th century's greatest guitarist issue. Under EVH's section, it said two things that everyone should realize....

1) You will never sound as cool as Eddie Van Halen

2) You will never look as cool as Eddie Van Halen holding a guitar.
