Hey,

We just became dealers for the EVH line and I got my first shipment into the shop. Holy hell is the 50 watt EVH III awesome. 3 Channels, Footswitch, FX loop and it sounds amazing. No spam here I'm just saying for a $999 you get a ton of great sounding amp.

The green channel sounds great, the blue is great and the red is soaked in harmonic overtone and tons of gain if you want it with out mud.

Digging it so much so I brought home a white 5150III 50 watt and 2x12 cab and a TC 2290 delay in the loop to keep with the Les Pauls for awhile. Toneful.

Brad

Awesome! You get any of the 2x12s or the 50w amp cover in to sell me? I love my lil 50w

Sounds like a lot of dealers got a batch in today then....my local friend did as well. He called me at lunch time and gave me first crack at one. I had the 100 watt version but sold it because of the three heads I had, it was the weakest IMO and I needed the funds for something else. The black 50w I sampled was sooooo tasty sounding I had to slap some money down on it to secure it, lol!! I'll go back friday morning, pay it off and leave with it!!! Done. It was better than I recall my 100 watt head sounding, at least with the guitar and cab we were using. I don't even think I'll fool with the bias (the 100 watt came ice cold and fizzy from the factory - doesn't seem to be the case with these). I still don't personally care for the WCW belt style evh logo and stripe plate, they kinda kill an otherwise nice looking head - especially the improved "F5150 III" nameplate...but oh well...what's under the hood is what really matters.

Congrats on being a dealer and getting some in stock. You'll have no problems moving them!

Yeah, shipments must have come in nationwide today. I just received my ivory 2x12 from Sweetwater. If I hadn't ordered it 5months ago I would have ordered it from Brad. Getting ready to fire it up. Going to make a smaller version of my rack based 100w rig using a musicomlab switcher as the control center. Pics to follow.

I flat out love mine. It's the amp all other amps will be judged against from here on out by me. Ch3 is where it's at, it's the perfect high gain channel with ZERO need for an OD pedal to saturate or tighten it like EVERY other high gain amp I've owned or played before it needed.

Fuckin' right! I got mine back in February, and I was blown away by the value that you get from this little head. For the price, they're hard to beat!

Blue Channel is the closest thing to sex there is without actually being sex.

I second Brad's statement... they REALLY knocked it out of the park with this amp... TONS of amp for an incredible price...

I'm really interested in what the EVH company is going to put out next amp wise. Seeing as I'm in no rush right now for another 5150 type amp , I'm going to patiently wait and see what they dream up.

Love my 6505+. really considering the 50 watter. Damn you King Guitar !!!!

it's a TOTALLY different amp from the Peavey version, if thats what you mean by "5150 type amp". I don't know what else Fender could put into an amp after the this incarnation. Reverb?

Well, with the incredible success of the III, you know they won't stop there. Especially with Eddie being the driving force behind it.

I wouldn't say it's totally different. All the 5150s (I, II and III) are pretty close under the mic on the high gain channels.

Edit: Hell, here's a clip of all three thanks to the amazing lolzgreg

Ok, maybe not totally because they are all high gainers :D . I could never gel with the Peaveys. Just something I didn't like about the tone that I could never dial out. To my ears the EVH's don't have that. Add the much better clean channel and all of the other features of the EVH and it becomes quite different.

The differences in the amps in that clip are hard to hear because the guitars are layered and are in a full band mix. James Lugo's infamous 2009 high gain amp shootout reveal the differences under a mic a bit better, but I agree, still closer sonically on tape than in person playing through the amps.

Are there still problems in levels between channels?
