EVHgear...what's gonna happen?

Wolf should keep the EVH gear coming. Wait... or did Ed leave the EVH brand to his wife? I'm not a fan of signature gear, but I understand how others might dig that sort of thing. The EBMM EVH guitar played well, but was too compact feeling, and I grew fatigued with the asymmetrical neck shape. The Peavey was a bit better, but that super-flat fretboard isn't my thing. I tried a FMIC EVH Wolfgang, but the compound radius fretboard ruined it for me. Tone/attack was less than impressive.

forget the gear...how bout the bazillion hours of EVH recordings socked away at his 5150 studio ??? I predict more than a few years of trickled out gems.... skip to 3:00 or so for look

Mom: "Why do you have to play that high crying noise?"
Ed: "It bought your house, didn't it?"

My favorite line from that clip   Well, besides the one about telling Wolf to aim better when throwing a pumpkin at the teacher

Claustrophobic. Looks like an episode of hoarders.

Used prices on the EVH amps will likely go up, hopefully they will calm down after a few years.

I still want a Stealth 50w and I wouldn't mind an EL34 50w, but I'm more than happy with my original 6L6 50w.

Some tube rolling, drop the presence dial down, hit the front end with a GE-7, and it's an absolute modernized Soldano-esque monster.

I don't know man, I dug that tour. I'm sure the place will still reek of ciggies and ash for the next 100 years but it's a player's den. Also interesting insight into his musical brain. Sometimes you just screw around with stuff and some real cool riffs come out. Now putting those into a song context and figuring out the drums for them is a whole other story but the creative process is still cool.

I almost pulled the trigger on one of the "Frankenstein" EVH guitars the other day and decided to pass. Then changed my mind and went to buy one and of course, backordered. So, I went to the EVH site and got a small replica. :)

I think I'll eventually pick up an EVH-themed guitar in some form. Just would be a nice memory of that dude. I have owned Wolfgangs in the past so definitely something I'm into. He makes great gear so I'm all about people grabbing this stuff.

It was confirmed that Wolfgang Van Halen and Matt Bruck will run the EVH brand going forward

Frickin' awesome!! It is his name on the guitar and what a great way to keep it in the family. He'll do right by his Dad. Love it.

This is great news!

Hendrix has been dead for 50 years now. His estate had it best year yet, shit they have new stuff coming out all the time and Fender/Marshall still have "new" Jimi lines along with pedals of all types, the estate get's a portion of everything. Van Halen 21K5051, as in the year 2100, and Hendrix will still be relevant in 2100 probably.

It is crazy how I've been rethinking the EVH brand and how I need that stuff again. I loved the EVH amp and Wolfgangs I have had over the years, whether Peavey or EVH. I still wish I had my Peavey one. I think I'm going to save up and get a USA Wolfgang one of these days. Nice to have one of the guitars he used each night on stage. Thankfully for us players, Ed knew his stuff as far as gear goes.

Local guy has a standard Mexican EVH stripes guitar for 1300. I emailed him the link to the in stock ones at Sweetwater asking what the difference is.

That’s great news! I’d like to pick up the new stealth 50 for sure. I think they will continue to put out some cool stuff especially on the guitar side. I’d love to see a Rasta.

Never underestimate the stupidity of a musician.
