I used the Boogie MKIV again at practice yesterday and it's just not quite the thing for me. (For my metal stuff I much prefer my 6505+),
I need that Marshall kerrang. Those fat mids. You know, the big classic Marshall sound. Biting highs.
I've had tons of Marshalls over the years. An 800 won't cut it because I need cleans and a loop. I loved my old JTM45 but I didn't like relying on gain pedals. I want Marshall gain.
With my pop rock band I don't need metal gain. I need big loud punchy, ballsy crunch. Good cleans. Great loop. I usually stay on one channel and roll the volume for most things clean, but for some songs I need real clean. So even with 4 channels I'll likely stay on two of them.
Thoughts about this amp? I'm sure the cleans are good, but I want to know if the gain has that classic 800 gain.
Thanks.
