Hello! Thanks for reading this. I'm having trouble programming my new EFX LITE 62M (from here on, 62M) with the use of MIDI.
Basically, what I'm trying to do is send a PC OR a CC (whatever works best, I don't care which) to my Voodoo Lab Control Switcher (from here on, CS). I have read through the manual for the 62M many times now, and cannot seem to find my answer...
As far as I'm concerned, I need to make my CS take PC and/or CC messages, which I have done with the help of their manual. From here I need to "Send the PC message from your foot controller for the preset you want to create" (<< straight from the Voodoo Lab manual). Which I have no idea of how to do.
OR I could set the CS to take CC messages, and have my 62M send it a program number of 80 through 84 (each number controlling each of the 4 switches on the CS) and that would tell the CS what to do. Here's my problem with this route: I've gone into the settings of the 62M and set the CC.A (control change A) to MIDI CHANNEL 1 (the channel that the CS wants, according to the Voodoo Lab manual) and to send the program number of 80 (for the first switch). According to the manual of the 62M, editing a presets' CC messages should be as easy as shown:
1. Select the preset to be programmed in the Preset, Song or Set Mode.
2. Press the 2ND switch to enter the Instant Access Mode.
The 4 LEDs above the 1 ~ 4 switches will indicate the corresponding Loop1 ~ Loop4 as on or off.
3. Press the 1 through 4 switches to turn the corresponding Loop1 ~ Loop4 on or off.
The corresponding LEDs will go on or off.
4. Press the 2ND switch.
The 4 LEDs above the 1 ~ 4 switches will indicate the corresponding Loop5, Loop6, Function Switch7 and Function Switch8 as on or off.
5. Press the 1 through 4 switches to turn the corresponding Loop5, Loop6, Function Switch7 and Function Switch8 on or off. The corresponding LEDs will
go on or off.
6. Press the 2ND switch.
The 4 LEDs above the 1 ~ 4 switches will indicate the corresponding CC.A ~ CC.D as on or off.
7. Press the 1 through 4 switches to turn the corresponding CC.A ~ CC.D on or off. The corresponding LEDs will go on or off.
8. Press the 2ND switch.
The 4 LEDs above the 1 ~ 4 switches will indicate the corresponding CC.E ~ CC.H as on or off.
9. Press the 1 through 4 switches to turn the corresponding CC.E ~ CC.H on or off. The corresponding LEDs will go on or off.
10. Press & hold the 2ND switch for 1 second to store the edit and return to Preset, Song or Set Mode. For the other side, press & hold the 2ND switch and
quickly press the 1 switch to return to Preset, Song or Set Mode without storing the edit.
BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! Whenever I go to change a preset and hit the 2ND switch, it just toggles between steps 1-5... Basically only letting me change the audio loops and not letting me tell the 62M to send CC messages.
Am I missing something here? Sorry if this was TOO thorough, I want to make sure we're on the same page... Any input would be great! Cheers.
