first thought is that you are certain to lose money on the resale of this, I can't see a market for a $1100 Rebel.

Love Ben's work but you can score his own amps for that price at TGP all day long.

IMO, I think Fargen is missing the point of the original intent of the amp -- a SOLID 20 watt head with mega options on the cheap.

I am actually not interested in this one, it just caught my attention.

I haven't been following the Rebel's much and thought maybe Fargen was doing a lot of these or something.

I didn't hear anything groundbreaking in the provided youtube clip that would add any value over the stock sound of the head. YMMV.

Do you have a Rebel?

I am seriously considering a Renegade, but may check out the Rebel as well

Had one. I liked the clean but was not a fan of the cranked tone. Too "throaty" for my playing style. I am thinking of picking up another though. May not have given it enough of a test drive before I sold it. I have a Tourmaster as well and the Rebel and Tourmaster are nite and day.

I'm sure Bruce would love reading the auction: "Don’t settle for a stock and stale sounding unit ..."

I guess what ever it takes to sell a 600 dollar amp for 1200.I thought the Rebel was anything but sterile  YMMV!!

Ironically, I'm sure that description he wrote is a "stock" description where he just changed the name of the unit being sold/modded (put in bold font). Maybe we should offer him a "modded" description in place of his "stock" one. Ha!

Well....I just bought a Rebel.

Should be nice company for my HT-5 and Axe Fx/Mesa Simul Satellite :D

kewl. it will definetlaly get louder then the HT-5, and I enjoyed its smooth drive sound.

It's a cool idea. I wonder what Voodoo and FJA can get out of this and the Blackstar.

What is it about the Renegade that has people so jazzed?

From what I have read, the gain channel is very similar to the SL2 module, which is my favorite high gain module out of all I have owned....and probably one of my favorite Marshallish high gain tones period.

I am not terribly concerned with the volume. FWIW, the HT-5 gets plenty loud for me....if I need LOUD, I will use my Axe with my Mesa Simul Satellite.....not much out there louder than Mark Series power sections :D

I have been jamming on the Rebel for a few days andit is a really cool little amp. I did, however, switch out the stock preamp tubes. Put an RFT in v1 and Chinese 9th gens in 2 and 3.

Can definitely bring the heavies. As usual, I prefer it with a boost and my 10 band in the loop, but that is that case with every amp I have ever owned.

I have been playing my HT-5 and the Rebel exclusively lately....my Axe may start getting lonely soon
