For those of you who ask the question (I'm looking at you Runt Paul and Aaron Rogers) why Fauci took the 5th despite having a pardon let me tell you two reasons why.

The first you should all know because I've explained it twice already. The constitution gives him that protection. If you hate the constitution vote in someone who will destroy it. Oh... Wait... Scratch that idea, ok?

The second reason is just as simple. If he decided to speak and speak at length and depth to answer every question in its fullest, any misspeak, any falter, any contradiction, any memory blip would be grounds for the lawfare folk (which are well represented here) to charge him with perjury, or obstruction or anything they could invent. And no one grilled for hours by a battery of lawyers and politicians with an axe to grind, will answer everything perfectly and not contradict or mis-remember. So, the smart and correct thing to do is "shut your mouth".
