Favorite boost for unmodded Marshall JMP?

I've been raving about the Cusack for years. I just ordered an Archer too so we'll see how that goes.

Also depends on which JMP. Master volume 2203, or 4-input??

I use a Freaking Sick 30v, but keep an MXR Classic OD next to it for lighter crunch.

I like the Archer, but it is very noisy. It is almost unuseable in front of a higher gain amp, IMO. (for the record I tried both the silver and gold versions).

I have an ocd fulltone that I really like but I bought 2 tc electronic spark mini's to use with my plexi recently that I am in love with... they are so transparent.

I bought it because of this video lol.

Which did you prefer?

Cusack Screamer V2.

Has 2X the gain of a stock tube screamer, 3 way clipping switch and the lowest noise floor of any pedal I've owned. Possibly the best TS variant I've used and I had them all.

One of your vids with a Marshall and Cusack Screamer got me to thinking about one a while back. Sounded great.

The Cusak is the best OD pedal I've ever had. Sounds great with everything. That said, I also have an Old school Boss 10 band EQ and the brown face setting works like a charm. Also, there is a slider all the way to the right that is the input level. Notch that up about half way between 0(flat) and wide open and it hits the front end of a jmp beautifully. Gonna try the Boss and Cusak together on my 68' plexi today. I'll report back how it goes.
Here you go....exactly what I use... right here is the best tone I ever had... will stand up to any modded amp I ever had

Are those old Boss EQs better than the newer ones? Looks kinda bulky for a pedalboard.

I swear by the MXR eq if you have a loop.

Ive also always sworn by the Maxon 808 in front until I got the PLX FX Bion boost. Same awesome take you to the next level boost. No coloration or mid hump.

1981 mk II master volume 2204 w/ 6550's.

Cool! Just get a replacement treble knob! I haven't had a 2204 recently, but I remember loving the OCD with my last one. Depends, do you want serious gain, or just a boost of the amp's natural gain?

Earthquaker dunes. Its a ts circuit but with more tone shaping and 3 clipping options. Great pedal.

Both would be nice to have. What would you recommend for each?
I just ordered a Cusack Screamer V2.
Should be here in a few days.

Good move...

I have been boosting with the Cusack Screamer V2 for close to a year now. I owned a Maxon OD808X, briefly had them at same time. The amount of gain was similar, but when A/B'ing the two, the Maxon had a much less smooth characteristic, and overall didn't sound as musical as the Cusack.

My main rig for about a year though was a stock 1959 from '76, with a newer GE-7 in front of it. Great combination.
