Good luck finding the little 70's era silver caps for Marshall knobs.

Your best bet is to buy a whole new set, the caps only come in gold now but the set looks great.

I got these recently either from Antique Electronics or Valvestorm. I forget.

To me the Screamer V2 sounded pretty much like my old SD-1 or my Bad Monkey. I'm curious to hear what you think of it. I've tried almost all of the TS variants, and they pretty much sound the same - reducing bass and treble, adding a mid hump. In front of an already crunch amp, they add a cocked wah type nasal tone that I don't like, since I want BROWN sound. What did I buy and then sell in the recent past?

Timmy
Kussak Screamer
Duncan 805
Maxon 808
Green Rhino
Archer Silver
Koko reloaded
Egnater Goldsmith
Mad Professor 1
EP Preamp
MXR Micro Amp
OCD
MXR Zakk
Friedman BE OD

And a few others I can't remember! What did I keep?

Bad Monkey
Boss SD-1 (had it since 85)
Tone Junkie Brown Sugah

The original knobs on my 74 JMP aren't silver - they're a light gold.

Anything sounds good in front of a 2204. For a better clearer SD-1, a canadian builder On Floor Audio on facebook. I have this one. Boost is bitchin too because if you want just a tad more for leads over a not too overdriven rythm tone, it gives the goods. Like a much cheaper Rocket Fuel!

Other than that, KoKo boost the original. Open that amp up and hit the mid side boost. I dig these two but really anything TS like or variant will bring the goods.

Love mine.

I always find these threads interesting and I'm always sucked in. But after trying a bunch my opinion is that each guar/amp/player is different enough that you just have to dive in, try a bunch, and decide. These threads can help narrow the focus though.

I will add that for me what makes a good stand-alone TS/variant often won't be the best 'push-your-amp' TS/variant. I prefer my VFE The Scream for low gain standalone duty but my favorite for pushing my amps is the Cusack. I also like a Klon (I use a RYRA Klone).

tried many in front of mine but that Cusak Screamer is the shit...and no noise!

I have been boosting with the Cusack Screamer V2 for close to a year now. I owned a Maxon OD808X, briefly had them at same time. The amount of gain was similar, but when A/B'ing the two, the Maxon had a much less smooth characteristic, and overall didn't sound as musical as the Cusack.

My main rig for about a year though was a stock 1959 from '76, with a newer GE-7 in front of it. Great combination.

What is the order? GE-7 post screamer ?

I`ve got the OFA Tube Boost , the standard version. Very nice pedal indeed with some nice bite in the top end

Get yourself a nice wet dry for your Marshall and you will have a killer tone.... another thing to consider is the ge-10 boss eq it makes tons of difference with the cusac....

Cusack Screamer V2 got here yesterday. So far I am liking it a lot. Definitely prefer it to a stock TS for a
leave on most of the time pedal.
