Just curious what you guys are digging. I'm thinking a Luxxtone or a Suhr at the moment. Love the classic single coil tones (have a Mexican Strat), but looking for something that packs some punch for rhythm playing as well...

Step 1 : buy a used USA HSS strat on Guitarcenter.com for around 5-600 bucks.
Step 2 : throw in a bareknuckle in the bridge.
Step 3 : Dial in the tremolo / put a Floyd or not / brass block etc.
Step 4 : sand the neck.
Step 5 : Shred.

Do this ^
But Suhr or Luxxtone is total worth the money. I got a Suhr Modern it's my fav. But I also did what Reza said. USA strat w/a bucker and a sanded neck is a shred machine.

I had a USA Fender Mahogany Select Strat that I put a Dimarzio Norton DP160 in the bridge. It totally destroyed my alder Custom Shop USA Charvel in the "balls" department. I've since sold both guitars though.

Cool guitar, Rez.

You still have the Rampage?

Yeah, man. :D

I've got another one here. Aging well in the case. Ivory....well worn, dropped, nicked. MCP Afwayu. If you want another.

Nah, actually looking to sell mine, too. Need something with an HSS config.

Yamaha SE700. MIJ, killer superstrat, dirt cheap (usually under $350). I put an Aldrich in the bridge of mine and it kills.

I have 2 Suhr's one with std trem and one w/the Gohto floyd in mahogany body maple tops mahogany necks rosewood boards SS frets and man I tell you they slay over all of my other super strats including other Suhrs for sound big and bold and thick...both are Pro series guitars an both are superb for the money, new just over $2k if you can find one, they were a limited run, someone has a used one for sale on RT right now. They still do a great strat thing with a little more body to the note (they are HSH too) and super versitile. I've gone thru a lot of Super Strats and for me these are it...

American Standards w/Suhr Aldrich. The one with the white pickguard is tuned to dropped C and sounds massive. Killer guitars. :rawk:
Bridges are blocked. No trems for me. If I want to dive I bend the neck.

I must say, my Charvel Pro Mod did not live up to the hype to be quite honest. I traded a Carvin V220 for it so at least the Charvel was an easy flip. My Mammoth Custom SS slays the Charvel in every way possible.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm still leaning towards the Luxxtone Chopper S. Plus, I'd want Motor City pickups in whatever guitar I'm getting anyways...
