When shipping via FedEx and using the plastic window bags that stick on the package always put packing tape over them. They are easy to rip of in transit. Had this happen to 3 amps over the years till we figured it out. I don't even use those and just tape the label to the box. We ship a tone of stuff with out issues.

This is good advise. I have a UPS account that I always use here at work, so my labels are actually the type that spit out of a dedicated UPS label printer...super sticky backing on these things, which really helps. If your using a regular printer and paper, then yeah, like Dave said, get some packing tape over that label for sure. Good 3M packing tape preferably. I've had good luck with UPS over the years and never had a problem with any of my amp being damaged. I do know that the claim process can be a pain and it can get very taxing on your patience. Try to remain calm and be persistent. Based on the OP, it sure seems you did everything the right way and the claim should be paid. Good luck to you....

I print my own labels and tape them directly to the box. Never use those plastic envelopes. Sometimes I put a second label inside the box incase they open it. The other thing to do is print out a separate sheet with the shipping address/tracking # on it as well and also completely tape it to the box. Lastly, I write the tracking number directly on the box.

OP I don't think you have to worry much. I know its frustrating, but they way you've explained this, it's all on FedEx. They can't prove delivery - especially since you had shipped with signature confirmation. I think you will come out alright in the end once it works its way through the process.

The only way to make sure you will win is to have them package it for you. Even then they will try to weasel out of it....but as long as FedEx or a UPS store packed it, stick it out. You'll win in the end.

This is what happens when a company has a captive audience.

It's up to us (the consumers) to stop being captive suckers... "vote with your wallet" - shop around.

Oh and threats of legal action / small claims court (after a serious attempt on your behalf to work with them to fix the problem) do wonders too.

Record every interaction.

Literally record every verbal communication (note that in some states, this is illegal - check up on that).

Document everything.

Crazy story....I really hope this gets resolved for you. This is always what sometimes halts me from shipping something large and expensive anywhere. Nothing like when they lose your package. Ridiculous.

That's another good piece of advice and something I always do anymore which is putting an invoice/shipping Label (To and From) INSIDE the box as well , just in case the one outside becomes removed or unreadable.
