Finally broke the cherry with an AC30 Cel Blue loaded.......

Co-worker brought in his AC30cc loaded with Blues and were able to gun it in the data center.

Did not bother with the trem inputs since I brought a Tubevibe anyways, just a super wet juicy vibe. Played the normal inputs for about ten minutes, everything pretty much at noon and loved the chime and easier to play then I thought it would be.

Top Boost inputs fucking ruled while dimed!!! freaking loud for 30 watts, some people from the floor walked in looking to see WTF was going on in the middle of a badly played Bridge of Sighs covering their ears Cleaned up very nice with the fiddle volume, I couldstay on that channel all day long. while dimed I felt the blues were getting too punished as the low end was on the edge imo but maybe that is a normal charactistic of the AC30? A tad more forgiving then I thought for an amp that is not very compressed.

I forgot to bring my treble booster though

Very cool amp, loved it in fact dimed but not so much at lower levels as it lost that mojo from being driven.

I hear ya Scotty. The only time I play low volume now is thru the line6 guitarport into headphones with a track, otherwise I play Police Helicopter Loud.

Cool, I'd love to bring an amp into work and blast it. I have to play unplugged on my lunchhour, although I could probably bring in a Microcube and get away with it.

I have a friend with an AC30, a Pete Cornish Treble booster and a Burns Brian May sig guitar( red Special replica, pretty dead nuts on) and I got to whack a few queen licks through that at stupid volumes and it was pretty amazing. Needless to say, my bud is a serious Brian May fan...

My Vox AC15H1TV sounds just as good as a cranked AC30 but at a more manageable volume...still pretty loud though, makes my band complain a bit.

The AC50 is still pretty reasonable and should be a bargain in this economy, they are great amps.

The AC30CC series is great, even better with a few tweaks. I kind of miss mine....

When people mention a nice clean tone 'Fender' always is the first thing mentioned...I'll take the Vox voicing, the mids aren't as scooped.
It's big, warm and full with a great top end.

FYI not all fender's have a scouped midrange. The Blackface and Silverface era amps do in general, but the Brown/Blonde and Tweed era amps have a strong midrange.

I agree though that Vox's cleans are great....

Agreed...I like Tweeds.

But when people say 'Fender cleans' they usually don't mean tweeds.
