First gig with the Triamp and perfroming as a three piece.

Well, Saturday we traveled to Austin, TX to play at the Red Eyed Fly. This was the first gig with the Triamp, and the first show that we played without a dedicated singer. I've fronted bands in the past, but always had a second guitarist to help cover my ass. Doing the power trio was very fun, and I think that we're going to be ok.

Now on the the amp. My tone was massive! I received numerous compliments on my tone from several of the other musicians playing that night. The soundguy even told me that I had the best tone that he's heard in over ten years! The amp played great, responded great and sat very nicely in the mix. I think I have finally found my keeper amp. I was borrowing a cab from another and, and all I had to do was bring the presence down a bit and there was my tone. I am so impressed with this amp every time I power it up. Anyway... here's a pic from the show. We're defiantly planning a return visit to Austin. The crowds there are so much more responsive to live music that in Houston. Way cool gig!

Very cool!!!!!!! Have to admit that I though your MK IV was perfect for you but you are the one that has to live with one amp!

BTW speaking of MK IV.......I lost a hard drive and lost your song, something beautiful. Could you post a link because I loved that song!!!

I used a triamp for a whole tour and I have to say that that tour was the only one where I was happy with my tone every night. Those amps are incredible and if I had the money I would buy one.

I had a Tube 50 for years.. basically a stripped down version of the Triamp. I was always told it was a killer tone every time we played out
Nuno used those on one of the later Exreme tours.. it ripped for sure!

I'm glad your gig went well. The GC on Westheimer had a Triamp last Thursday when I was there. That is an AMAZING amp! The only other H&K gear I've played/owned was a Tube Factor several years ago and thought that it was a killer pedal, but the Triamps are the bomb! I was plugged into a Marshall cab with 75's and a Gibson Explorer and the tone was amazing. I could see my self using all 6 "channels" too, unlike the JVM for example. What channels do you mainly use? I haven't been that blown away by an amp in I don't know how long. I don't know why there isn't more buzz about them.

Ok... in the order that I remember them in. The song "Beautiful" is avalible on iTunes under Savage Evolution. What you downloaded was the first rough mix of the song from the soundclick page.

I used 1A, 2A and the A&B sides of channel 3. I could easily use all six tones, but tap dancing while trying to sing has proven to be a bit difficult. lol!

Tele, I was hammered by the end of the night. I really don't remember the sound guy telling me his name though...

TX6, I think we'll be playing a show ih H-Town in late August. I'll let you know once we have confirmed the date.

Yes, the Triamp Mk II at GC is a beast. I think that the look of the Mk II just kills! They made some tonal changes on the Mk II that sound great as well.
