Any fix to this?

I did leave the guitar plugged in (amp off) for a few days. But this is the second battery in a month. I got one of the expensive lithium 9v too. Not sure what's going on. Guitar is KM7 MK-iii artist with the KM Fishman pickups.

About to rip these out.

You have to unplug the cable when you aren't using the guitar. If the cable is plugged in it is draining the battery.

Yeah but a few days?

Emg says leaving plugged in 24/7 the battery should last a month.

Current draw on EMGs is 80 micro amps per pickup, 160 micro amps for two.

Fishman state 2.5 milliamps (for a pair I hope?) which is 2,500 micro amps.

A pair in a guitar and the cable left plugged in will drain a normal battery in only a few days. Your best bet is to get some rechargeable 9 volts and have a few ready to go when you need them. That’s what I would do.

Damn, didnt know they were that needy. Like a scorned ex gf.

May get some Lundgrens, I don't have time for rechargeable batteries

I will definitely never leave it plugged in again though, damn.

Wow, those things are hungry.. Does the power draw translate into extra headroom in the preamp? How do they compare to EMG's in the compression area?

The KM are less compressed imo so yeah I would say more headroom..Has 3 modes and each gets slightly fatter if you like that kind of thing.

They sound pretty good and are neutral imo. I still liked the MCP Hotheads better but the KM Fishman are really good. On the fence to replace them with Lundgren M7.

I wonder if there is something wrong with the wiring making it never turn off?

Fishmans ARE more needy than EMGs, but they shouldn't die that quickly. I have had the same battery in a guitar for like a year, and it is still going strong.

Yeah its the second one ive gone through in just a couple of months. Cant recall if i left it plugged in with the first battery but this one was just a few days. I have the date marked now though and wont be leaving it plugged in so ill see how long it lasts.

One of the pots was dead when I got the guitar (used) and I did have local tech replace so who knows whats going on inside.
