I'm rightwing... have had 5 shots of the vaccine and am happy about it. I'm still alive. Being conservative doesn't mean you have to be a medical luddite. Re: the IQ post above I was measured as a child with an IQ of 137 - not genius territory but certainly not a turnip. Lefties like to think they have superior intelligence. A lot of their identity politics and ideas about achieving some sort of equity via affirmative action are severely misguided. Equity should be about treating everyone the same regardless of who you are. Not trying to equalise everyone financially regardless of their personal efforts or circumstances.

Mine was 82. Definitely not genius territory. Not dumb enough to vote democrat but intelligent enough to walk and chew gum at the same time.

I dunno, I’d think 137 is on the higher side. So if I may, equating vaccine rejection to medical primitivity seems not a very deep analysis. What other factors made you decide to get 5 shots?

Sorry to hear brother. I can understand wanting to take all precautions. It seems that most people who are proponents of the vaccine are simply so because of what their doctor or health agency says. I assume you're aware of the critics of the vaccines. As an intelligent person what do you make of their evidence and reasoning, or studies that demonstrate lack of efficacy and potential harms? For me, the liability waiver is enough to indicate that there must be some safety concerns. In my mind, that is so elementary, but most people seem to gloss over it, if they're even aware of it at all.

You’re right, there are other factors that should be considered. My impression is that it’s not as plausible as a new variable which has been established to be potentially lethal. But certainly, lifestyle changes and disruptions to regular medical care should be examined.

How about people that live in flats/units. People in Australia were locked down hard for ages. We couldn't even move out of our local government area or go out of the house unless it was shopping or to work for a while. If you are looking at trends across the population conclusions have to be representative of the whole population. Older people in particular wouldn't have been as active. The lack of activity would have compounded their health issues.

I can't relate. I live in a free country.

My 97 year old neighbor was out twice a day. :dunno: I would talk to him and his wife everyday like have have for decades.
