For all you "VACCINE IS CAUSING BILLIONS OF DEATHS!!!!" People......

Too many people where hung up on their own personal “rights” being infringed upon that they forgot why the topic was even broached in the first place.
Those who feared getting sick could've stayed home much more easily than demanding the entire world shut down and forcing people into locking down.

Which is the scope of this thread.

You can get this data from the GOV, you just have to compile the graphs yourself ?‍♀️ :ROFLMAO:

I got it three times. Not really any big deal. I know people who got it bad, unfortunate. Sickness happens. Everyone I know who got vaccinated still got it , some much worse than I did, so I don't see any wonderworking properties the way it was spun. The claim "you would've gotten it worse if you weren't vaccinated" is just that, a claim without any provable basis.
The govt and media constantly lied to the people.

If everyone made an effort to not get other people sick, the lockdowns probably would have been unnecessary, as would the fear

@Aynirar27:

A plurality of Democrats said governments should “fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines” (48%), and support forcing unvaccinated American citizens “to use a smart phone app or wearable device that tracks unvaccinated people to ensure that they are quarantined or socially distancing from others.” Only 27% of likely voters overall agreed with punishing vaccine skeptics, and only 28% overall supported tracking the unvaccinated.

Though not near a majority, or even a plurality, the highest category of respondents who “strongly support” or “somewhat support” a proposal to “temporarily remove parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine” were Democrats (29%). Republicans opposed that idea 90% to 7%.

..And Trump was head of the govt when the lying started, no?

Then you should post his pic with the rest of them.
I would agree with this.

He is still all about bragging up "his" dumb vaccine.

People can debate that all they want. The bullshit happened under both presidents and it is what it is.
I didn’t do any of the things I did because the gubment told me to. I did it because I felt it was the right thing to do, and what I would hope those that cared about me would do as well.

I was furloughed for 8 months. Trust me, I was pissed at the situation. When my wife decided to be a stay at home mom because we were having a 2nd child, me being on unemployment was not part of the plan.

But that is secondary to the pandemic was a bad thing.

Strongly disagree with this sentiment. Look, people should have the right to work, to travel, to not inject things they don't want to inject. These are basic human rights. People that are concerned should likewise have the right to take the precautions they feel necessary, including not working, not traveling and injecting all they want.

There's no evidence the lockdowns or even the vaccines did anything other than prolong it. If you recall in the beginning, the "Curve flatteners" only suggested the (two week) lockdown would buy us time. No one ever suggested the lockdown or any measure would lead to eradication, which could only come from herd immunity, which means exposure.

I am saying people put their own rights over the safety of others. Not everyone, but a lot of people.

It’s understandable to be pissed about someone telling you that you have to get vaccinated. But that doesn’t mean that vaccines themselves are dangerous.

It’s ok to be pissed that you have to wear a mask, but that doesn’t mean that wearing masks are ineffective at keeping germs from spreading. It is a rare moment that I don’t have a coffee or cigarette in my hand, so trust me I found masks annoying.

But outside of being pissed off about them, most people should realize that they are objectively good things to do during a pandemic.

That has been my point this whole time. People were angry about a lot of things, and regardless of whether you believe that anger was justified or not, it kept people from doing things that would have helped the situation as a whole immensely. If your concern was the people around you, then the mandates were not that scary, or at least understandable.

That’s really it man

How? Because they wanted to keep working or not take a shot?

I'd argue it's immoral, apart from just not liking to be told what to do.

Oh boy... This is.... Debatable.

It used to be the accepted case anyways. And at this point I think it's pretty well established they don't do much, if anything. And again, as with the vaccines, there are risks. Why is it the pro-maskers/vaxxers/lockdowners only seem to think the risks presented by their interventions are okay, but not the risks of the virus or whatever supposed evil they are trying to address? It's the major complaint I have with people of this mentality — they seem to think the world revolves around them and their view of things, and are apparently arrogant and self-righteous enough to want to force it on everyone else.

I don’t really think it is. Someone people are entire anti vax, and that is a separate thing. But it seems that people who are only anti covid vax, are anti other things and not necessarily the efficacy of the vaccine. Same with the masks. No one expected anyone to like wearing them, but to say they aren’t helpful is ignorant and angry. And to make fun of people for wearing them is straight douchebaggery.

If you don’t think that any of the preventive measures put in place would have been effective on their own merits, then we really don’t have much else to talk about because the fashion they were put in place has no bearing on my opinion.

I don’t believe in forcing anyone to have a medical procedure. That’s what getting any type of injection is, no matter the purpose. I also thought the masks were silly after it came out that the only mask that worked was the N95. But everyone had the regular surgical mask, which doesn’t do anything.

I mean the surgical masks do something I think.
Sure they aren’t the end all deterrent of viruses but I feel like objectively, if you were next to someone in the grocery store coughing their brains out, and they were wearing a mask, you would briefly think “well at least they are wearing a mask”
