Just thought I'd share this and it left me wondering? Came home yesterday to a box sitting in front of my door
and I had no idea why? Anyways..it 's an amp I purchased only a week ago that I obviously forgot about!
I remember I used to be so excited when getting something new to me and follow it's every movement via the tracking of the shipping company.
I would make sure I'm home when whatever it is arrived. Guess it's not that big of a deal to me any more and when and why did that change?
It's either that or...I'm just getting old and forgetful? Anybody else lose the "little kid" in you when getting new gear?

lol you have become desensitized
Go spend stupid money on a Cameron or Dar so it imprints enough impact on your brain to stir up the juices

No, I don't have enough money for that to happen. Every piece of gear I buy, I pretty much plan on using for a specific purpose.

No way! I received an EQD Dispatch Master yesterday and it changed the whole course of my day.
NAD is like that on steroids.

Here's one just as bad:
I ordered a set of GraphTech Vintage Strat saddles. I could have sworn I received and proceeded to turn my whole house upside down looking for them...twice. Fack! Where could I have put them!

They arrived a couple days later.

I've forgotten some small pieces of gear I ordered (tubes, parts, etc), but never an amp. LOL

Not me.
Even at 50 y.o. now...I still won’t be able sleep solid until my gear arrives.
Matter of fact, just ordered and amp last night....already I’m consistently refreshing the browser to see if my UPs tracking has updated.

Sounds like when you open a beer and find another opened one sitting almost full. :ROFLMAO:

Shit - wifey and I are winos. Found a near full bottle of our favorite label with the vacuum top in the fridge and another half full - no cap / no stopper - on the countertop the next morning (!)

I can’t say I relate at all - every piece of gear, especially something as important as a tube amplifier, has a specific purpose and I remember purchasing each of them like it was yesterday. Even my 5150 II I snagged in 2005.

I could never afford flipping or collecting gear I don’t use, and don’t plan on starting anytime soon. The gear is way too expensive to be flipping and spending that kind of money without a lot of forethought and planning.

I also find you lose a lot of money flipping gear and run a large risk of something going wrong. I definitely try to minimize turnover as much as possible or any need for buying something I don’t need or can’t use.

I sometimes used to bid on Ebay auctions while drunk late at night. One morning I woke up and found out I'd won a 5150 block letter for $400.
I was not upset.
That is great. I have also been guilty of this. I was ordering so much stuff for awhile, that it was like christmas when i would open the boxes. I had always forgotten what i had ordered. Also drunk. I am so thoughtful when choosing gifts for me.

You could be jaded. I dunno.

But gear purchases always get me excited. If I ever lose that spark, then maybe I need to stop buying more shit and just play more instead.

The Dispatch Master is a very inspiring pedal. I love it .
It's like a choir of angels singing backup to whatever you're playing.
Kinda awesome. Kinda sux up the whole mix.
Fun, nonetheless.

I'm the same way. Hardly ever get fired up. Don't know that I've ever forgotten an amp was coming, but I never "track" that stuff anymore. When it shows up, it shows up. Sometimes I don't get around playing it for a week or two after it arrives. I'm not talking about a hello kitty guitar either. This happened with my Wizard MTL.
This reminds me. I bought one of the last new Soldano Avengers. I think I still have a Diezel and a Slo hanging around. When the avenger came, i left it in the box for 2-3 months.
